Former senator, commentator and actor Fred Thompson will provide regular opinion and analysis on ABCRadio.com. The network says the Fred Thompson Report will discuss issues and events that affect all Americans. Audio versions of many of the commentaries will also be made available on ABCRadio.com.
The Internet allows as never before a real dialogue among the American people. There has never been a more important time in recent history to be informed as a nation, and my hope is that my daily commentary will contribute to that discussion, said Thompson. Im looking forward to using the medium to its fullest.
There is a clear demand to hear from Senator Thompson. Its obvious that listeners, if not America, seek his leadership on issues that matter. Radio has already provided an excellent platform to inform and educate listeners seeking his opinionthe Fred Thompson Report is another extension to deliver his respected opinion, said John McConnell, SVP/Programming, ABC Radio Networks.
Thompson, a former Republican Senator from Tennessee is well known for his current television role on NBCs Law & Order. For the past year, Thompson has been working with ABC News Radio as a Special Program Host and Senior Analyst, hosting special reports and doing vacation fill-in for Paul Harvey.
Then you give credence to the popular notion that Giuliani supporters are being banned strictly for that reason.
I maintain that those that have been banned ignored warnings by Jim, slandered President Reagan, vehemently supported infanticide or abortion, or were personally insulting to the owner of this board. Many were banned at their own request.
That is what I have observed.
Even though I'm repulsed by the thought of a Rudy candidacy, I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate the many threads you post and especially appreciate your continued civility in these rough-and-tumble times on FR. You've taken a lot of undeserved crap from people IMO.
Actually, I think you're afraid to call Jim those names to his face. That's okay, my skin is thick, but not as thick as your head. If you've been following Jim`s posts lately, you'd see his rhetoric has been brutal but honest. He has laid down the law. Undermine FR`s conservative message, promote liberals and liberalism, and you'll pay the price. You don't like those rules, take it up with Jim.
Lol! without absolutely any concept of irony at all, you just post another "nayayayayaya you're gonna get banned" comment. Sometimes the jokes just write themselves. Lol.
I have little fear of being banned because 1, I'm not a liberal, 2, I'm not disruptive. What I am, is sick of the likes of you and Spiff baiting everyone who won't kiss your behinds.
Yep. I don't think that this is good news.
The fact that the Rudy people like Fred too is a perfect example of why he's the man to unite the GOP.
I really believe if Fred was not seriously considering jumping into the race he would of come out and said so by now.
You don’t get it. There can be NO dissent. All must be cleared with R.M. and his merry band.
To be fair there are/were several pro-Rudy freepers who did continuously launch unfair attacks on them, however, areafiftyone wasn't one of them. Unfortunately, it seems to be a guilt-by-association thing.
PING
You have been dissenting rather nicely for months.
No, there is no delusion on my part. Watching you scurry around trying to get people banned or thrown off is no delusion.
Nor is watching people like Peach who has done as much to educate people here about the War and Terrorism as anyone get thrown off. That is no victory for conservatives or conservatism.
It is delusional to believe YOU can define political viewpoints acceptable to FR.
He would be a rare non-spin commentator, a breath of fresh air in the MSM, IF he is allowed to write his own script, and not used.
LOL I think Jim has made it abundantly clear that if you are going to promote a gun grabbing, abortionst liberal to be the GOP nominee around FR, you're not welcome here. There are lotsa reasons that people have been banned from FR. Peach`s violations covered just about every issue. Sam Hill was just a stupid jerk. Fair Opinion was a liberal who supported liberals A.Schwarzy and RudyG. Luis Gonzalas said abortion was no big deal and the GOP should move along. A51 is FR`s #1 resident RudyBooster. I see no good reason to give cover to anyone who attempts to promote liberalism and undermine conservatism on FR.
We all need to work at purging liberalism from FR and make a big effort to start advancing conservatism at every opportunity.
I disagree. All of those Rudy threads were an opportunity for us to hone our attacks on him. Without them, I would not know nearly as much negative stuff about him. I agree with the other poster, you ought to chill a bit.
You need to work out your personal anger problems somewhere else. From what I've seen of your posts, you are no conservative. And your rhetoric always seems to lean leftward. By choice I guess.
That appears to me to be the case as well. I have spoken highly of Rudy and other candidates and have not been banned in spite of the Little Lickspittles’ constant attempts to obtain that result. And have had direct conversations with Jim regarding Giuliani without negative consequences. Of course, I do not make a point of insulting him either.
Some here seem to believe their principle enemies are other conservatives who don’t go along with their whims.
In A51`s case, talking up FredT is nothing more then a ruse. She is FR`s #1 RudyBooster.
Hopefully, we will be proven wrong.
Jim’s not going around bullying and baiting folks, getting them all agitated so they react negatively and directly with Jim. It is his forum after all, and those that disagree with his principles and argue with him have indeed been banned. However, I have a bad taste in my mouth observing those who believe their job is to bring to his attention any who have strayed from his path. Those actions are what is going to cause more folks (conservative, pro-life, pro-2nd amendment) to leave than being banned.
