I’d really like to see the raw data they are using to make these silly comparisons. Statistics - what an easily manipulated means of comparing disparate issues.

I thought federal law already states women and men should get equal pay for equal work. Hasn’t that been the law for decades now? If there are inequities they probably will blame those evil Republicans. But why didn’t Democrat presidents and congresses do something? Hmmm.

The 2008 election could really give the voters a sharp, clear choice between the two parties. Democrats are coming out more and more, staking out liberal positions on issues such as this so called pay gap.

Anything that clarifies where the Democrats really stand is good. Let them have their hearings now that they control Congress and try to score political points. Middle American may be turned off by the Democratic party in this coming election cycle because of far left ideas like this so called pay gay.

Thats the whole problem. They like to use raw data without controlling for all the variables that need to be controlled for, such as experience, education, hours (men work about 10 hours a week more than women), willingness to do unpopular stuff ...

Once you do that there is not much difference left.

But as social scientists acknowledge, it's not inconceivable that men push harder for raises. Are women automatically entitled to the fruits of their efforts to prevent employers from being hit with lawsuits? Even when the women have done nothing to seek raises themselves?
