Good morning to you. You are quite welcome.
I thought this was a poll of GOP primary voters.
PA Leadership Conference Straw Poll Winner Fred Thompson:An aside, is your Rudy 'Ping List' now down to three? It was a bloody weekend wasn't it (snicker), even yesterday more bit the dust. The writer behind the blog "PA for Hizzoner, Rudy Giuliani" put the best possible spin on the results of this weekend's presidential straw poll at the Pennsylvania Leadership Conference, a key barometer of GOP activist sentiment in the state. The headline was "Rudy Leads All Presidential Candidates," but the blogger had to confess the headline "may be a little deceptive," since theformer mayor actually got 16% and tied for second with Newt Gingrich, who spoke at the conference. The winner was non-declared candidate Fred Thompson, who "slaughtered the field" with 35% of the total vote.
Mr. Thompson was a non-candidate on a roll this weekend. He also came out on top in a straw poll on the other side of the country conducted at the California Republican Assembly, the state's oldest and largest Republican volunteer organization. He won 25% of delegate votes, topping local favorite Rep. Duncan Hunter of San Diego. For his part, Mr. Giuliani won 7% of the vote, although admittedly he was not expected to do well among the very conservative CRA membership.
Hmmm, maybe you should make it a 'Rudy Pong List'.
All voters, not Republicans
Yes it is. The only other reason why I think It could be low polling is because there are too many candidates and that is why the polling is low. Otherwise it looks very bad - the Democrats are polling much better.
I'm not sure where Rasmussen is getting the notion that all four front-runners are slipping. Fred Thompson and John McCain seem to be holding pretty steady, IIRC, and polling from other houses is consistent with these results for both of them. Rudy HAS slipped a lot over the past few weeks, but I think that has more to do with the base having pre-emptive buyer's remorse than anything else. All the same, I don't see any slippage to speak of. Okay, let's look at the favs/unfavs rating. Obama's 33%-33% vs. Rudy's 29%-34% That's all statistical. Seriously, folks, these numbers are nothing to hyperventilate about, especially being this far out from the primaries, not to mention the general.
Look, Hillary and Obama are NOT the juggernaut many people think they are. Hillary is probably going to spike Obama at some point, and she's the one that 50% have definitely said they WON'T vote for. WHy are you worried as much as you are???
I've noticed a trend for the past several weeks. Rudy supporters tend to be the folks who are convinced that the GOP is going to go down in flames in 2008 and that this is practically fated by the powers that be. Fred (and other conservative candidates) supporters are the opposite - they're optimistic for the party, and optimistic for the country as a whole, and they're the ones who think we can beat Hillary.
Straw polls are being investigated this year. There have been some very bad signs or corruption in them. The South Carolina ones especially. I would not put any stock in straw polls. I’m going to post some info on what is going on in SC with the straw polls. Very bad corruption.
Some very good people have left or been shown the door. That's not something I think is a cause for celebration. IMO.
Since the Dims pretty much control all the polls, are we supposed to be surprised that the Dims are polling much better?
I don’t know who these people are calling but,.........

You’re right - I know a few people in the straw poll business down here.
These things are complete jokes - and laughed at by everyone.
I don’t care who win one - they are complete crap.
Get a couple buses - fill em up - buy everyone lunch - take
them to the straw poll and stuff the numbers.
They are totally rigged - so much so they have become a game.
Amen.
Thompsons at 12% and he hasn’t declared yet?
I thought those polls were really interesting.
I think Fred Thompson is the only threat to Rudy right now.
I think his presence is for real.
This is right in line with the claim that PEW and Quinnipac made earlier, that around 15% of the electorate is now Independent/Swing and are moderate, leaning liberal. over 56% of all the electorate, believe Republicans (seen as Conservatives) will not handle the economy, the environment or the WOT as well as a Democrat controlled GOVERNMENT will.
This is seriously alarming for those of us who are investigating these claims. But they are very real and disturbing in deed.
And you think that was a good thing? Getting rid of long time Freepers just because they happen to like another candidate than the one that was assigned to FR? I'm glad you find that amusing.
The USA is not a conservative nation.
Most want to be ruled by the MSM/DNC, as evidenced by their continuing support of both.
It is every man for himself on our side, don’t wait for a knight in shining armor. Get your finances situated, move if you need to, stock up on weapons, ammo, food, pull your kids out of public school, ect.
Anything you can to escape the looters and moochers for the next 40 years.
LOL, maybe we should find a place to meet in case of an emergency?
Since the Dims pretty much control all the polls, are we supposed to be surprised that the Dims are polling much better?
Same old playbook from you. You said the same thing November 2006 in order to ease everyone’s mind only to be hit in the head with reality. Thanks!!!
When you have something intelligent to say rather than snickering like a five year old who just pulled a girl’s hair, let me know.
