Perhaps, ICE told the FDA to back off these companies who generally employee illegals.

“If We start investigating the processers, someone might find out they hire illegals”

Well, certainly you can’t expect the FDA to actually inspect our food—after all, they’re so busy trying to put a halt to the sales of herbs and vitamins.

Strawberries are out there. See if they are close to harvesting. You can pick a box of the big ones. That’s a LOT of jam! How about freezing some to MAKE strawberry ice cream?

Uh, if these are situations that the FDA has known about for YEARS, why is it just in the last couple of months that anyone seems to have had any problems with spinach or peanut butter?

That too. I like my strawberry jam on waffles. The ones we are getting in the store here in Memphis are large, but don’t look as good as they have in years past.

"The ones we are getting in the store here in Memphis are large, but don’t look as good as they have in years past."

That's the way the produce markets work. The best stuff grown in CA gets trucked or flown to where it gets the best price. For example, in supermarkets around here in CA, we have 8" stalks of asparagus while supermarkets in other states get 12" to 14" stalks. The same in your state with what you grow. The best gets shipped to where it gets the best price. You get left with average. In L.A., there is a produce market where bids are taken for a whole farm's produce, samples on display. The highest bid sends trucks to the farm and further destinations. It's a VERY BIG place.
