The devil didn’t make Cho do it. He was a devil, created by us and the environment in which he existed.

KALI YUGA - THE DARK AGE

According to the Hindu and Buddhist traditions the Universe evolves through great cosmic cycles which follow the same pattern as the seasons and life itself. At the end of each complete cycle, or Manvantara, all life moves into a new stage of evolution. We are currently living in the final phase of the fourth Manavantara - the Dark Age - which will see catastrophic upheaval.

Hindus are awaiting the coming of the Kalki Avatar at the end of this present age, Kalki Yuga (Dark or Iron Age). We are at the end of the Kalki Yuga and Baha’u’llah is the Kalki Avatar. This age in which we live is an age of the decline of righteousness.

And, as promised in the Bhagavad Gita, the Lord has manifested Himself again, this time with the name Baha’u’llah.

This name means the Glory of Bhagwan or the Splendor of Ishvara. The coming of Baha’u’llah is therefore the start of the Sat or Krta Yuga (Golden Age). It is the time when people will return to righteousness and the world will be at peace.

Baha’is consider that Baha’u’llah has fulfilled the prophecies of Lord Krishna when he said:
For the salvation of the good, the destruction of the evil-doers, and for firmly establishing righteousness, I manifest myself from age to age. ( Bhagavad Gita 4:7-8 )

For Bahá’ís of Hindu background, Bahá’u’lláh comes as the new incarnation of Krishna, the “Tenth Avatar” and the “Most Great Spirit.” He is “the birthless, the deathless” the One who, “when goodness grows weak,” returns “in every age” to “establish righteousness” as promised in the Bhagavad-Gita.

Baha’is have pointed to the prophecies in the Hindu scriptures and stated that all of these have been fulfilled in this age. There are many passages in the Hindu writings which describe the condition of the world at the end of the Kalki Yuga.

Baha is would say that what is described in the Hindu books is exactly what we are seeing in the world today. Among the most striking of these passages from the Hindu holy books are the following:

In the Kali Yuga, wealth alone will be the deciding factor of nobility [ in place of birth, righteous behavior or merit].And brute force will be the only standard or deciding what is righteous or just.

Mutual liking [and not family pedigree, social status, etc.] will be the deciding factor in choosing a partner in marriage; cheating will be the order of the day in business relations; satisfaction of sexual pleasure will be the only consideration of male or female excellence and worthiness; and the wearing of the sacred thread(Yajnopavita) [and not pious behavior or Vedic or Shastric learning] will be the outward index of being a Brahmin.

I In the Kali Yuga, only one quarter of each of the four feet of Dharma [panance, truthfulness, compassion and charity] remains. And that too goes on decreasing day by day while the feet of Adharma [unrighteousness] increase greatly. So that in the end Dharma becomes extinct.

In that [Kali] age, people will be greedy. They will take to wicked behavior. They will be merciless, indulge in hostilities without any cause, unfortunate, extremely covetous for wealth and women. High social status will be attained by Sudras, fisherman and such other classes...

When deceit, falsehood, lethargy, sleepiness, violence, despondency. grief, delusion, fear, and poverty prevail, that is the Kali Yuga...

...mortal beings will become dull-wittwd, unlucky, voracious, destitute of wealth yet voloptuous, and women, wanton and unchaste.

Countries will be laid waste by robbers and vagabonds; the Vedas will be condemned heretics; kings will exploit their subjects, and twice-borns like Brahmanas will only think of the gratification of their sexual desires and other appetites.

Celibates [of the Brahma Carya ashrama] will cease to observe their vows of study, purity and celibacy; householders will take to begging [instead of giving alms]; hermits [of the vanaprastha ashrama] will resort to villages [leaving their retreats in the forests]; and Sannyasins will be extremely greedy for money.[in short, the whole system of the Varnashrama Dharma will have broken down.]

Petty - minded people will conduct business transactions and merchants will be dishonest.

In the Kali Yuga, men will abandon their parents, brothers, friends, and relatives. They will occupy high seats [and pulpits] and will [pretend to] preach religion.

People will have their minds weighed down with constant anxiety and fear. This will be due to devastating famines and heavy taxation. The land will not grow food-crops, and the people will always be in fear of impending droughts. ( Bhagavad Gita 3:24, 25, 30-3, 35, 37-9)

I know its his own fault, but we are each a product of both our inheritance and our environment.

And our decisions. We're not hunks of flotsam drifting on the seas of life. We are vessels that can steer.

Since you believe obviously to have found your stones, then do you have the ability to enlighten us all on how you managed to avoid the fate of Cho?

I learned to communicate with and relate to other people. If I found myself in a position I didn't like, I learned how to change it. I took responsibility for my life rather than developing a seething hatred of everyone who seemed happier than me.

I don't pretend that this makes me special -- I'm just standing with the 99.999% of the population that doesn't treat his life as something beyond his control, and let his anger steep for years until he goes on a murderous rampage.

I say that men in general have been immasculated in both popular culture and in the education process, socialization.

I say that you're trying to squeeze Cho's story into the plot line you already had in mind, and the problem isn't that Cho was emasculated, but that he was never masculated. He never learned how to be a man.

The fact that he was sneaking cell-phone peeks at women's knees under their desks is a clue. That would be pretty normal for a 12-year-old. In a 20-something, it's troubling. He was stuck, stunted, in early adolescence. If Cho had a rising frustration that he couldn't get laid, it wasn't the feminists or political correctness stopping him. It was Cho.

Allowing concealed carry on the VT campus would indeed go a long way to counter the immasculation of men in society

I scarcely know where to begin with that. Somehow, our lost/stolen manhood would be restored if only we were allowed to carry guns? Sweet Jesus, dude, get help.

I doubt the escort would tell the truth as to if they had sex or not since it is illegal. I believe they did have sex since Cho needed to go to the restroom to wash up.

If there's a murder investigation, let alone the worst mass murder on record, the cops will hand out immunity on misdemeanors like Halloween candy. I can't imagine any investigator who wouldn't give immunity for more information in this case,

Especially since the perp is dead, there will be no trial, and the escort will never need to testify. With only one party to the transaction left alive, there's no way on God's green Earth that the DA could make a prostitution case. Even if he wanted to, which he doesn't.

I believe they did have sex since Cho needed to go to the restroom to wash up.

He might have, to put it delicately, taken care of his own business. That would be in keeping with everything we've heard about a young man who preferred not to deal with other people. It would not surprise me a bit if he got his credit card, went on a spree, hired a pro, and then couldn't bring himself to close the deal.

Or he might have felt unclean, with or without an exchange of fluids. I don't think there's any serious debate that Cho was one sick puppy, and his attitude toward sex was conflicted.

This “one square” thing has replaced the astronaut diaper as our Meme of the Moment.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Good points. I’m sure she told the FBI exactly what happened, but for the news reporters....I doubt she was as forthcoming. Just speculating...but I find it very hard to believe she just danced for him.

Sweet Jesus, dude, get help.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

You see, its your own prejudice which blinds you.

Men and violence will always be connected. The qestion is when is violence or the potential of violence beneficial?

It is in the protector role in which it is beneficial. You know, protecting the sheep and being the good shepherd and all that.

Men and boys in our society are being denied the role of protector. All violence or potential for violence is negative. Therefore there is an array of socialization mechanisms which actually are powerfully dedicated to the immasculation of men, to the end that they not have any violent behaviour, little drones, or induced eunuchism. Cho is a social symptom indicating that this is so. I am making no excuses for Cho, he chose evil, but I can also predict that as the immasculation of our young men continues, and the denial of the protector role continues, we can look forward to more Columbines, more, VTs.

Its interesting that you think the weapon principle is an insignificant part of male existence. Its a distinct part of boyhood play, or perhaps you were a doll man as a boy?LOL

Yes, concealed carry at VT would go a long way to righting a very immasculating, distinct wrong against men and their roles as protectors at VT.

Get help? I have all the help I need, in 9mm x 18 caliber and a concealed carry.

My guess -- and I emphasize guess -- is that she was willing to do more, but he was unable to ask. Or even to accept if she offered. He wanted sex desperately, but was too terrified to seal the deal. That is not uncommon,

I've known a few people who slept together. Emphasis on slept -- nothing else going on. Two people who love each other, under covers, butt-naked, and nothing going on,

There's some kind of mental block there. Guys who'll josh around and say "I'd hit that" and somehow can't follow through when it's there and close and begging to be hit. It's a deep neurosis.

If Cho had, to put it indelicately, just gotten laid, he might not have harbored such rage. But if he'd been able to chase what he wanted, he wouldn't have been in that position in the first place.

Men and violence will always be connected.

People and violence will always be connected. If you don't believe that, you've never seen women fight. The only time I've ever hit a woman was when I had to separate two women before one of them ended up dead and the other in prison.

Therefore there is an array of socialization mechanisms which actually are powerfully dedicated to the immasculation of men, to the end that they not have any violent behaviour, little drones, or induced eunuchism.

I think you miss the boat when you equate protection with violence or equate violence with masculinity. Whether it's a date or a merely friendly outing, I walk a woman to her door or to her car. It's habit. It's how I was raised. And I have never met a woman who resented it. I have never felt emasculated by showing simple courtesy.

Get help? I have all the help I need, in 9mm x 18 caliber and a concealed carry.

The fact that you think that proves your point illustrates my point. You're touting your gun like a strutting peacock flies his plumage. How am I armed? Enough. What am I packing? Please don't ask. Because if I have to show it, things will already be awry.
