I believe strongly that politicians in Washington shouldn't be telling generals how to do their job. And I believe artificial timetables of withdrawal would be a mistake. An artificial timetable of withdrawal would say to an enemy, just wait them out; it would say to the Iraqis, don't do hard things necessary to achieve our objectives; and it would be discouraging for our troops. And therefore I will strongly reject an artificial timetable withdrawal and/or Washington politicians trying to tell those who wear the uniform how to do their job.
I will, of course, be willing to work with the Congress, both Republicans and Democrats, on a way forward. That's what I said during the Cabinet Room. But I also made it clear that no matter how tough it may look, that for the Congress to micromanage this process is a mistake.
Photo of the Day
OUR Cowboy, President Bush, right, is presented with a cowboy hat by Indianapolis Colts football team owner Jim Irsay, center, as Colts quarterback Peyton Manning, left, looks on.
Hi - great job, onyx!
Lol awesome photo of the day. I love our cowboy president. :)
I notice that Dubya said something about passing of Boris Yestlin is kinda weird that Dubya probably send Dick Cheney who have work under George Bush Sr who help with President Reagan make Communisim US little b***h
Like what I hear karma is b***h
I want everyone to know how much I cherish my dear friends on this thread.
In case I don't express it enough, I thank the Lord that He has given us this President and that our mutual admiration for him has brought us all together here on this precious thread.
God bless you all!
The pics would be better if daBears were in them!....still holding a grudge...at least for Jonathan...lol
Good job on Gonzales. Backing down and backing away are only done as last resorts or as strategy to resume the offense. For President Bush audacity is proof of authenticity but few are willing to recognize that.
Go Colts! Go W!
When does he not?
I don't know why I'm thinking about it right at this moment, maybe because I gave myself the luxury of goofing off most of today, but when does our President NOT have a busy day?
If he's sincere, takes his office seriously, and fully understands the reponsibility he carries for 300 million Americans, as I believe this President does, when is it EVER not a 24/7/365 job?
And for much of that time, he's in the public eye, with reporters and photographers watching his every move.
I don't think any of us can really understand what doing that for four years is like, much less eight.
You have to be seriously nuts or divinely inspired to want it, much less accomplish it.
Just thinking about it makes me question the sanity of all the current candidates.
Hi, all....Thanks, onyx......love the pics - the President getting some “fun” time is GOOD!
Sorry it took me so long to get here, but LOVE that picture of the day! Now he has another cowboy hat to add to the collection! WOOHOO!!!
Thanks for Sanity Island! It’s always welcome.
Love this picture..Thank you for the Dose, onyx.
Prayers for our troops, our President and our nation.
