Ted Nugent: Gun-free zone is mass murderer's dream
The Waco Tribune-Herald ^ | April 22, 2007 | Ted Nugent, Texas Wildman

Posted on 04/22/2007 2:13:20 PM PDT by LA Woman3

Zero tolerance, huh? Gun-free zones, huh?

Try these on for size:

Columbine High School. Gun-free zone. New York City pizza shop. Gun-free zone. Pearl (Miss.) High School. Gun-free zone. Luby's Cafeteria. Gun-free zone. The Amish school in Pennsylvania. Gun-free zone.

Virginia Tech University. Gun-free zone.

Anybody see what the evil Sarah Brady and her denial-infested gun-banning cult have created?

I personally have zero tolerance for evil and denial. And America had best wake up real quick to this fact: The brain-dead celebration of unarmed helplessness will get you killed every time. I've about had enough of it.

Conversely, at a Salt Lake City shopping mall, as occurs every day in varying degrees in this country, this happened:

An American citizen with a gun in his belt stopped a man from killing more innocent victims.

Trust in gun owners. In the 1998 school shooting in Springfield, Ore., a high schooler and hunter familiar with firearms was able to know when the student gunman was attempting to reload his .22 rifle.

He made the tactical decision to tackle the shooter and bring the unfolding rampage to an abrupt end.

Thank you for the ping!

I agree that gun free zones are not the answer...citizens need to arm themselves and get prepared to protect themselves from those who would kill them!

The police are not our babysitters, and they have been found “not responsible” for our safety. Their main job in this type of situation is to clean up after the carnage is over.

A reader's comment to Terrible Ted:

Ted you say "you've about had enough of it?". Really?? That sounds pretty angry and somewhat threatening Ted. What are you going to do about it? Are you going to take action againt anti-gun "cults" as you call them? [Uhhhh...Ted already has taken action. He wrote this column.] What about freedom of speech? Don't people that think different than you have rights too?[Again, Ted is using his freedom of speech just as his opponents are].

Dumbass.

It never ceases to amaze me when liberals state that their “free speech” is somehow being violated when their positions on issues are questioned/criticized. Unfathomable ignorance.

A dose of truth. But it has to be stated again and again. As Mark Twain wrote, "I lie can be halfway around the world before truth gets its trousers on."

citizens need to arm themselves and get prepared to protect themselves from those who would kill them!

I disagree.

Citizens have the right to arm themselves and be prepared to defend themselves if needed after being proved as being of right mind and capable of having the right to make the choice to defend themselves when the scenario is at hand.

Gun-free nations are safer—at least for folks like Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Mao, Idi Amin, Castro, Pol Pot and Saddam, all of whom disarmed their detractors before slaughtering them by the tens of millions.

History records the consequences of disarming people, both in terms of protection, in their person and property, from tyrannical governments and from criminals. Regarding the latter, “If guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns.”

Thomas Jefferson understood that maxim. In his Commonplace Book, Jefferson quotes Cesare Beccaria from his seminal work, On Crimes and Punishment: “Laws that forbid the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.”

The same can be said of so-called “gun-free zones” in America, as on the campus of Virginia Tech.

Unfathomable ignorance.

Sadly enough via a lot of work by the "left" unfathomable ignorance is accepted for political and personal gain.

I don’t know which Freeper said it but here’s the quote.

Liberals didn’t create “Gun Free Zones”. They created printed signs that said “Gun Free Zones”.

I agree, training is absolutely essential where firearms are concerned. Today this is a bigger issue than in the past, as fewer people (especially young adults) are familiar with guns than in the past.

In the interim, an industrial strength non-lethal defense tool is needed. The people at Taser International should consider this a huge new business opportunity.

Thomas Jefferson understood that maxim.

That was over 200 years ago and via education and personal political drive by some, that maxim has been forgotten or at the least stifled from individual minds as a promotion as to why "we the people" created our Constitution in the first place. .
