Privately owned turnpikes and tollroads are as American as barge canals ~ wasting the public's resources on roads they don't use or care about was once viewed as a dastardly sin.

Why do we have so many Freepers who are demanding continuation of the Socialist system of roads?

Because up Texans pay plenty of money in taxes for the state to provide adequate roads. It is our state and if we screw up, it is our screw up. It should be owned by the taxpayers and not some Spanish company that is owned by whom? Arabs? French? Russians? Chinese? Japanese? Who knows. I just know the Spaniards do not have this kind of money floating around in their economy in order to control all the projects they are involved with in North America.
