You said that Jim was just making conservatives feel at home again. And I said which conservatives are those? Certainly not fiscal conservatives. Or law and order conservatives. Maybe he’s making socons feel at home, but since when are those the only conservatives?

If those were the most important conservatives, why didn’t Newt’s Contract with America mention one single sentence about abortion or guns?

If socons were so concerned with abortion why did they spend most of last year complaining about spending (fiscal conservative issues) instead of abortion? It’s like they’re unappeasable.

If we have no Washington in our time, I will take someone that can play him on tv. (Thompson)

Weren’t you going to bed about an hour ago?

Anyway, if you remember, one of the things that swept the republicans into power in 1994 was that the assault weapons ban was passed just months before the election. Even clinton admits that.

The gun owners were enraged in 1994. The NRA wiped the floor with liberals. The Brady Bill and the Assault Weapons Ban were huge issues, as was Hillary’s health care grab. Clinton told the Washington Times afterward, “We overreached.”

The CWC was part of the electoral victory, but not all of it.

Pull ease. If anything YOU and your friends were attempting to drive off the 'socons', IMO. Jims just taking his site back.

So you think social conservatives are unappeasable, cementing your GoP establishment view that socons are merely the blacks of the Dem Party. Let’s “give them cake”. Where else can they go?

Unfortunately for you and your establishment GOP view, Rudee is going to fall when Thompson enters the race...the estab crowd will follow in time...and the radicals and leftists contingent within the GOP who want abortion and no borders etc will be left alone with only a few NE Rinos congressmen to console them and their hopes.
