Fighting for your principles IS 'the hard way'...

Your not fighting for any principles that I recognize. The only people flopping around are the knee jerkin frogs in the conservative bucket.

The RNC has been self destructing for the last four years. What principle says you should damage your political party, in order to save it? What principle, in the Rudy debate, says you should attack him unmercifully as a candidate for your own political party? And it's not just Rudy who's being attacked by the right.

I thought that was supposed to be the purview of the Democrats.

What principles lead you to believe you are doing a good thing?

You keep driving wedges into the party and expect the damage will heal? It's not!

It has become so common now, that we take it for granted the this is the way a political party should behave. It's not!

If you destroy Rudy, then what? Who's next? What other needed segment of the party will you alienate?

You think it is principle that guides you?

It's no principle that I have ever seen. It's not..... It's vindictive hubris by a relatively small segment of the party, but every segment is required to beat the Dems.

If you think for one minute that the loss of the White House in 2008 will somehow make the party more conservative, you are wrong. It's not. It will make them even more desperate and dysfunctional, just as happened to the Dem's. This will go on for some time, and the fact is, that it did not need to happen at all. 2006 was warning, NOT a sign that conservatism was failing or was not conservative enough.. It was a warning that the coalition was breaking down.

Well it's broke now!

Enjoy.......

You have just spoken well and you support a liberal candidate. But you have supported your man and your position in the correct way. You used logic and persuasion.

You write that we are alienating a vital segment of the party, perhaps so. But that segment of the party is in many cases, closer to our enemies politically, than to us. When they attempt to nominate a man so repulsive to everything we believe, there is no room for compromise.

Add that to the fact that they let us know they didn’t need us to do as they wished. Their tone was the same elitist, dismissive rhetoric used by their cousins, the Democrats.

A Republican primary is a family fight. That’s what you are observing. If these Rudy people, who tell us to select their candidate or elect Hillary Clinton, will likewise not support anyone else against her, then they are hypocrites and frauds. My best to you.

And THAT is the essence of the matter. It is clear that we operate from completely different frames of reference. Thus, constructive dialog is next to impossible.

I commend and thank for keeping the attempted discussion calm and civil, and wish you well.

Time and events will determine which view of reality proves more correct...
