Would you please knock it off

Not all women are pro choice, and a lot of us love and treasure our children with all our hearts as precious gifts from God. Most of the adamantly pro life people I know are women, a lot of men figure it is not their issue and they don’t have a lot to say about it (which is wrong)

I am tired of being smeared as an amoral weak emotional creature that cannot be inconvenienced by something as silly as a child just because I am a woman, and that happens to fit some silly stereotype you have.

In fact, a lot of us women are very actively 100 percent hard core pro-life.

I'm not saying that all women are weak and pro-choice. My mom would beat me into a pulp for saying that!

I am saying that a) carrying a pregnancy to term is a difficult and expensive thing - even I believe that! And since many other women believe that, they like having the option of abortion - they might think it's wrong, but "not wrong enough".

A lot of men, think that too - I've had to reevaluate many a friendship because people I grew up with have said outright that they don't mind killing babies if it means them saving money. But most women a) don't like to openly confront about anything, especially this issue, and b) yes, women get more emotional than men. And even if they weigh the issue one way, they have good friends that weighed the issue the other way - and they don't want to break off that friendship.

And that causes them not to come outright and debate the issue of abortion, but for emotions to come steaming out indirectly instead. This has happened with every wishy-washy-commited pro-life woman I've dated. Every one. And when it finally comes out what they're angry about, it's like Krakatoa blowing.

A more recent poll has shown that the gender gap of those who most staunchly oppose abortion isn't as large as many think. 37% of women said that abortion should be generally available, compared to 31% of men. But 23% of both men and women said that abortion should not be permitted at all.
