I think you just nailed the problem directly. There really is too much HATE going on here on this forum.

This thread was posted for no other reason than to stir up this kind of heated and passionate conversation. Then, to single out any members who believe differently from those who tow the forum line and get rid of them.

Calling someone “Liberal” because they support a GOP candidate who influential people on this forum does not, is unhealthy for the forum. When so many devoted and respected conservatives outside this forum support Giuliani, then how does that make them “Liberals” because of who they support, regardless of their personal beliefs.

The label game just does nothing to advance the philosophy, it only alienates and repels future recruits and member participation.

Hillary Clinton,Is She Conservative?

Reasons I pose the question:

1 Rudy is a Liberal
2. GW Bush is a Liberal
3. GHW Bush is a Liberal
4. Fred Thompson is a Liberal
5. John McCaine is a Liberal
6 Hillary was for Goldwater (before Goldwater became a Liberal)
7. Hillary believes in God (raised a Methodist...so we know she believes in a good Christian God)
8.Liberals and People at DU hate her(she must be a consevative)
9.Hillary supported the war in Iraq (well, she used to)

“The label game just does nothing to advance the philosophy...”

If I were a liberal I wouldn’t want to be labeled either. Advancing the philosophy of conservatism is not hindered by calling a liberal a liberal. There are lots of liberal power mongers in the Republican Party. Just go to your local meetings, you will see them.

That is because Conservatives hate liberals because they are destroying our country. And now lately trying to destroy the party weve worked hard to build since Ronald Reagan.

liberals hate conservatives because we stand in the way of the changes they want to make to our country and to the GOP. Liberals like Rudy have clearly spoken about how they want to take the party back to being a Rockefeller Republican Party.

Conservatives hate that especially when they use our hero, Ronald Reagans name to do it.

The label game just does nothing to advance the philosophy, it only alienates and repels future recruits and member participation.

Sometimes labels mean something. RINO means Republican in Name Only, or People who use the title Republican who don't agree with the definition written out in the platform. Its easier to use a label than type all that out.

I believe those who are trying to use the label "conservative" to describe the flaming "liberal" Rudy , are doing so because they realize that the "conservative" labels sells alot better than the "liberal" label.

You seem to be intentionally avoiding the fact that Giuliani is a liberal.

Nobody was forced to come to this thread and post. Nobody was required to attack Jim here, or to even participate.

This thread WAS posted to stir up passion, passion for the conservative causes that this site espouses and exists to advance.

Nothing in the topic required anybody to post that Reagan was pro-abortion (a false statement refuted multiple times).

Nothing in this conversation required trashing the founding fathers as irreligious, or claiming Jim wanted Hillary to be president.

One can argue whether what was done deserved banning, but each poster acted on their own free will, and took action which lead to banning in full knowledge of the risks of taking the steps they took. Some were warned in advance and refused to heed the warnings.

The problem is that Rudy is a LIBERAL, and FR is a conservative website. The support for Rudy has ALWAYS puzzled me because I don’t see how anyone who is conservative, and agrees with FR mission statement, could consider supporting him.

Just from lurking, I’ve noticed that most of the Rudy supporters seem to be Republicans and not conservatives. Many of them have shown up on various threads attacking Rush, coulter, Buchanan, Duncan Hunter, Tancredo, Rommney, Fox News, Savage - anyone IOW, to the right of Arlen Specter.

How much energy does FR want to waste fighting liberal Rudy supporters in its own ranks? Why are they even posting on a conservative website?

I just don’t get it.
