What would you like to pretend that statement was, in order for my reply to fit your new version of events?

A backhanded slap on my part at those who think everyone who posts at WideAwakes or similar sites is an "anti-FReeper" or that those sites are "anti-Freeper" sites? Do you realize some very thoughtful FReepers in good standing are members of WideAwakes? Does that make them "anti-FReepers"? Isn't that insulting to them? Is name calling really necessary?

Yes, and definitions to go along with those names.

The other site was started by a FReeper. It was started by a FReeper who felt uncomfortable posting on FR. He came to feel uncomfortable because he was constantly at odds with the conservative goals of Free Republic and a growing anti-Rudy factor. Btw, the startup for the other site looks to be March 5th. Since then, many other FReepers who also felt uncomfortable around this forum because of the new invigorated conservatism and anti-Rudyism, decided to join the other site. Still other posters decided to commit hara-kiri and join the other site. Most of these people didn't leave FR under the best of circumstances. Many are angry and probably have a bone to pick with Jim and other FReepers who are still members in good standing here. Others want to damage the integrity of this forum and if at all possible, bring it down. Good luck with that. Those are my impressions anyway.

WA is not the first anti-FReeper site and it won't the last. Its just the newest. One thing is true. Anti-Freeper websites don't startup because people are looking for a brand new news and discussion forum. There are plenty of those around. This is all about politics. Conservatism v liberalism, centrism, moderatism, even assholeism. Its politics.

I could care less where you post, but that place is eaten up with the liberal malcontents who’ve been banished. I won’t register and post there. I’m happy to be rid of them. I’ve fought with most of them for years.

I don’t consider them “thoughtful”, although that and “smart” are too of the labels liberals often like to use for themselves.

You use the “conservative” label to describe yourself. I hope that we will eventually find something to agree on once this is all over. No Wideawakes forum for me.
