“I find it implausible to associate Rudy with the meaning of ‘socialism” I learned by my own skin while living under it.”

Precision is not a FR strength. While the rest of America uses words like liberal, conservative and middle of the road, at FR anybody not a social conservative is a socialist.

And up to the post number here, there has not been one single word in this thread about national security, world terror threat.

The site is less and less in touch with reality, because those issues are near the top for voters.

Good observation. Last year freepers complained about the spending by Congressional Republicans but this year their concern seems to be abortion to the exclusion of everything else.

It's so interesting that Newt Gingrich's Contract With America didn't mention abortion and yet it's now all these so called perfect conservatives can talk about.

Ah, the last fall back of the rudy supporters. He’ll be tough on terror, yada yada yada.

However, besides kicking arafat ouf of a concert, what foreign policy experience does he possess?

Rudy was mayor of NY on 9/11. That’s his big selling point. However ot’s not a qualification to be CiC.

You need to reread the thread.

I had an interesting conversation with an airline seatmate last week, a John Howard-supporting Aussie police detective. He specializes in child exploitation cases, but is keenly interested in what’s happening to his country regarding the radical Islamic invasion. He told me he was sick to his core about how they sought to escape accountability.

A couple of interesting things came out of that conversation. One, he didn’t realize the US military was all-volunteer. The overseas media tends to omit that fact. Two, he was worried about appearing bigoted because of his views. I assured him that he had a lot of company, and that common-sense profiling in every other bit of police work was not considered to be bigoted.

And three, even with the things I mentioned above, he told me about many, many people around him who do get that a country’s survival against the malignancy that is radical Islam must not be lost during this accelerated political season.

For this reason, any democrat would be an unmitigated disaster. The stakes have never been higher. I believe that radical Islam notches up the danger presented by the Nazis because they are borderless. They share no common points with us. They are a tangental line with Western values. There are no common points.

I am a Fred supporter, and hope he gets the nomination. And while we’re talking about Ronaldus Magnus, let’s not forget that running off the cliff with all flags flying is what he recommended. And please, let’s also remember that the perfect is the enemy of the good.

If you think that Rudy would be the wrong choice, the primaries are the place to implement that opinion, and with as much energy as you can muster. I will not take part in a third party exercise that will escort Saul Alinsky’s most prominent protogee into the People’s House.

It is also prolife to ensure that the Western civilization does not fall to the death-dealers of terrorist Islam.

Eagles up!

Rudy is an open borders supporter by his own actions, making NYC the first sanctuary city. How does that measure on National Security?

World Terror threat? We have numerous Republicans in the field that would be wonderful and better than Rudy.

They are not mentioned because Rudy’s stances on issues of homosexual marriage, gun rights, abortion (not to mention state-funding of this “constitutional right” showing his closet socialism), government spending, and general authoritarianism are the issues we have with Rudy.

Why would we not focus in on the issues we disagree upon?

I have an explanation for you that you may not have thought of. The reason there's so little discussion of national security in the Rudy threads is because (with the exception of the traitorous Ron Paul) there is not one GOP candidate--NOT ONE--who is going to lay down for the Islamofascists.

The idea Rudy supporters have that he's the only answer on national security is every bit as divorced from reality as claiming he's the only white male in the GOP race.

That’s a good point.

Jim Gilmore has strong experience in analyzing America’s terrorism risks, Duncan Hunter has served on the Armed Services Committee. McCain has advocated Iraq policies vigorously and shows an understanding of our policies’ intricate details.

Rudy Guiliani insisted in locating a crisis response center in a building known to be a target for international terrorism, and can’t keep his own campaign paperwork secure.
