That has always troubled me because it reveals how his mind works, any leader has mistakes his critics can attack, but flawed leaders make mistakes that reveal how their shortcomings created those mistakes.
My guess is that just about every veteran, or any one with a military type mind is troubled by his lack of recognition of the physical vulnerability of placing his base there, I don’t think he understands much of the physical world of military style actions and defenses.
