Cynicism doesn't require talent.

It’s true that she sometimes makes a very sharp observation.
I’d imagine that MoDo spends at least as much on her hair as John Edwards does, but she’s not trying to sell herself as a populist, “common man” candidate :-).

Someone who aspires to talk credibly about the two Americas cant lavish on his locks what working families may spend on electricity in a year. I wish I spend $800 a year on electricity.
Miss Dowd needs to buy a clue
BTW, I only hit these threads to wait for the Zeta Jones pictures to show up.

Edwards is a big fat phony.
The Edwardses were solidly middle class when Johnny was growing up, according to a four-part profile of the North Carolina senator in his home states most prestigious daily, the Raleigh News and Observer. Its true that for a few years as a young man Edwards father worked on the floor of a Roger Milliken textile mill. But Edwards père (a lifelong Republican, like his reactionary boss) quickly climbed upward, becoming a monitor of worker productivity as a time-study man which any labor organizer in the South will tell you is a polite term for a stoolie who spies on the proletarian mill hands to get them to speed up production for the same low wages. Daddy Edwards grassing got him promoted to supervisor, then to plant manager and he finally resigned to start his own business as a consultant to the textile industry. As a Boston Globe profile of Edwards put it last year, the senator never notes that his father was part of management . . . John was more middle class than most of us, says Bill Garner, a high school friend and college roommate.

Breckgirl primping his hair.
Rudy-in-dresses.
Is this the best the politican parties can offer the American voters?
I wonder, if elected, which gown Rudy will wear to his Inaugural Ball.
Imagine the snickers and laughs in Bin Laden’s cave if one of these girlymen does get elected.

Yes I can. She's an obnoxious, ignorant crank. She's also a hypocrite. Right now she's shilling for Clinton. If Edwards won the democrat nomination, she'd write long columns about the two Americas and how Edwards has to spend $400 on a haircut so that he looks the part of a statesman, etc., etc.
I'd like to suggest that someone should run her over with a truck, but I can't justify beating a perfectly good truck with an ugly stick like Maureen Dowd.

"...Someone who aspires to talk credibly about the two Americas cant lavish on his locks what working families may spend on electricity in a year. You cant sell earnestness while indulging in decadence."
Uh...I don't know how to tell you this, Maureen, but Democrat politicians have perfected exactly this to a fine art...
Remember Bubba's haircut? He's more popular than ever.
Remember how the Kennedys fought the offshore windmills at their Massachusetts compound? They're considered great givebackers.
Remember how gingerly Al Gore danced around questions concerning environmental pollution at his Tennessee mansion? They gave him the Academy Award and nominated him for the Nobel Peace Prize. (Well, to dance so gingerly at his weight, he should receive some kind of prize.)
And speaking of decadence, welcome to the Post-Enlightenment! Decadence is what it is! Don't expect truth, logic, justice, or fair play.
By the way--I know this is changing the subject but--is Barbra still hanging her laundry out on the clothesline?

I have several thoughts after reading the responses to a MoDo thread.
First, MoDo must appreciate the fact that the personal comments rendered are proof positive of, "every knock is a boost." That is, the amount of resentment boosts her standing and popularity. That is what the NYT pays their commentators for.
Second, in respect to Catherine Zeta Jones, does anyone have any idea of what she has done, written or thought about? Other than serving as a source for masturbatory fantasies for the adolescent minded, do any of the pictures have any contribution to understanding her or Douglas for that matter?
To: shrinkermd
Baloney. I know high school kids who write better than she does.
She’s got her nose up Hillary’s butt.
