Party Of Retreat: The Senate's top Democrat has announced to terrorists a U.S. surrender in Iraq. Considering our new strategy's documented successes, Harry Reid's determination to lose is practically treasonous.
In a week that saw the worst mass shooting in U.S. history, and a Senate committee subject the attorney general to a modern-day Salem witch trial, the Senate majority leader managed to say something that made headlines:
"This war is lost," the Nevada Democrat told reporters Thursday, "and this surge is not accomplishing anything."
That's odd. According to the Pentagon, the influx of tens of thousands of troops, accompanied by a new strategy focused on counterinsurgency, and led by a new commander, Gen. David Petraeus, is accomplishing plenty.

Dingy needs to start receiving burkas in his mail.
IBD has been knocking it out of the park with their editorials the last few days. Good post
dingy needs to receive something a bit more substantial than burkhas. This is full on treason, aiding and abetting and giving comfort to the enemy in time of war.
Harry Reid is such a weakling and poor excuse for a leader.
That Megalomanic needs to step down, step down...
He’s no Elvis.
Last “”” -—> “?”
It’s past practically, actually. The dims have been the party of treason for decades. Nice of you normal people to finally notice what “crackpots” like myself have seen for decades. Even talk show hosts, sharp ones like Mark Levine, who I really like are finally beginning to understand that it is not ideas they wish to discuss. It is the surrender of our republic to socialism/communism. Regardless, as far as Reid is concerned, I predict that nothing will be done. Easy to see why he quit boxing, he seems to lack that “winning spirit”.
I heard you on Mark Levin today;)
Back in 2003, I went to a ridiculous lecture featuring some idiotic Clintonista (I forget the name). This prophet of doom merely regurgitated then-three-day-old talking points to predict that Saddam Hussein would defeat the American military that his boss commanded just 26 months earlier and that the Army never could enter Baghdad. Less than twenty minutes after that barrage of defeatism, I arrived home and turned on the television. American forces entered Baghdad, war correspondents in tow, and in a sharp rebuke to defeatists, refused to die or surrender to the practically unresponsive enemy.
Democrats licked their wounds, but they didn’t learn much. They hired Iraqi information minister Muhammad Saeed al-Sahaf to plot their revenge in the press. The Americans and their British, Australian, Polish, and other allies quickly defeated Saddam Hussein, who met his final demise earlier this year.
The defeatist Democrats, ever seditionist enemy propagandists, find the situation in Iraq as dire as ever. But with al-Sahaf on their side, they gradually took over the prevailing American media outlets to the almost complete and increasing exclusion of other points of view. American forces meanwhile engaged in myriad small, isolated, dangerous, and unglamorous but invariably victorious missions away from the media spotlight.
I have sent letters to both my Republican Senators and my DemocRAT Congresswoman asking them to push for a Censure of Reid. If a Dumbocrat won't vote to Censure than he obviously agrees with the Nevada Ninny!
In aiding and comforting the enemy in wartime, Reid has betrayed the office he holds, shamed the Nevadans he represents and made the Democratic Party he leads synonymous with surrender. There is one way he can repair the damage he's done to the nation: step down. That makes the assumption that Dingy is interested in repairing the damage. I sincerely doubt that. If anything he wishes to do even more damage.
Dingy will not be satisfied until President Bush is gone, the RATS control the Executive and Legislative branches of government and we have surrendered in Iraq.
