Oh, I see - they’re trying to be “vague” about where the SWAT officers are in the building right now, because of the possibility of TVs inside.

There is a “safe side” of the building, where the cops outside don’t look too worried hanging out there.

Even tho all the JSC employees have been told to go home now, the building where they are running the mission for the ISS guys coming back to Russia tomorrow *is* on lockdown. And there are several backups for that, if something were to happen there.

(They’re acting like it’s not Mission Control, for some reason - but I don’t know what else it would be.)

HPD has allowed media to come inside the police lines now - and there will be a press conference shortly.

NASA news conference - HPD

shortly before 2, call that possible shots fired ... two shots confirmed ... suspect in bldg ... SWAT is inside ... 50-year-old suspect, one man ... we don’t know if there is another person inside with him ... not sure what kind of weapon he has ... have not yet established communication with the gunman ... he *is* barricaded in there ... can’t confirm about Jacobs or not ... can’t confirm whether he is still alive or not ... unknown if the first shots were directed at anyone or anything, but they were fired inside the bldg ... no police officers have seen the POI yet, only the initial employee witness ... NASA spksprsn on now.
