I’m so sorry you’ve lost a good co-worker in such a horrible way. Sometimes I worry that NASA has a lot of mentally shaky engineering geeks among its contractors. When I first learned about Russell Yates’ bizarre personal life, it was alarming to think that somebody like that was allowed to work in a NASA facility. He simply can’t have come across as normal and stable, and yet he’d worked there for a number of years.
If you hear anything about a possible ID on the female hostage, I’d like to know. I have a college friend who works there (does something related to space shuttle electrical systems, last I heard).
I was qwondering if mom4kittys had that pic on her PC ir if she had just used a link. ;o)
As far as the cat goes, if you are familiar
with the episode, you know that Gary Sevens’
60’s era human secretary,(played by Terri
Hatcher) had designs on Gary, and resented
the cat...Who gave Ms Hatchers character,
a quick glimpse of another “side” of the
pussys’ “character”, at the end of the
show....as it were. :oP
It was Teri Garr.:-)
Oops! You’re right of course.
It most definitely was Terri Garr.
(sheepish grin) ..Twice in two days!
I’m slippin...better eats me spinach!
Yeah, you know thats a real problem...Even a stray bullet flying all the way from Houston (Clear Lake) Texas, across the vast expanses of the Gulf of Mexico, across the middle of Florida all the way to the Kennedy Space Center on the Atlantic coast of Florida would be a real concern for say...
Endangered migrating Whooping Cranes...Right???
/bigtime sarcasm
I guess your whole “multi-billion dollar joke thing” struck a cord with me somehow...
Now thats funny!
The woman’s last name was Crenshaw.
Am very sorry you knew the shooting victim and that this occurred at your facility. If you learn the “reason” for the shooting, could you please let us know. Just listened to Fox replay and they did not know the ‘reason’....what triggered the violence.
SWAT teams came from off site. The spokesman for the teams is a coastie (USCG). They were probably sent over by the USCG station at Ellington.
I got that from an old defense contract manager who moved into the NASA contracting world about 15 years ago. He had a million sayings like that (back in days when managers could cuss and flirt like a good 'ol boy) that he would use in meetings to drive home a point. I still laugh at the time he used my tagline on me in a meeting. We had a failure during a structural test, and I was running the stress numbers to try and figure out why the part broke. "I'm just trying to get a warm feeling about the stresses that we're looking at." You can imagine the rest of the exchange.
wouldn’t&rsquo
Yikes how did that happen? Make that wouldn’t
Thank you. Not my friend, I’m glad to say.
You’re welcome. Glad to know it’s not your friend. Evidently this lady was the person who called 911.....so she did well. They said she stayed very calm. They still don’t know exactly what happened - all I’ve heard is something about an argument that happened at lunch and they have found a napkin or small piece of paper with writing on it that might help explain things - but they haven’t told what that writing was.
On what planet did you develop a view of life as having "little bumps" which cause extreme behavior? Would a "little bump" be the loss of a loved one or mental illness or combat related problems or physical disability or an alsheimer's afflicted parent or traumatic economic loss or what? It is nice that you may have (so far) escaped these little bumps but you must be aware that other people have to deal with these challenges and certainly do not view them as little bumps.
Beverly sounds familiar, did he ever work MOD?
