I hate to say it again, but guess it has to be said:

Free Republic is a conservative site.

As a conservative site, we are pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-liberty, pro-America.

Like-minded folks know immediately what this means and why we will never "move on from abortion" as Rudy Giuliani and his supporters ask us to do.

Think about it.

You might as well be asking us to deny God. To deny the Creator that gave us life and liberty. To give up our children. To surrender our country to the left. To give up our freedom. To give up our faith and our belief in God's Word.

Why insult us like this?

IMHO, the root difference between conservatism and liberalism IS our belief in God. For the most part, we conservatives defend our Christian/Judeo founding and our God-centered traditional American society and family values system, and the belief that our most fundamental rights were bestowed upon us by our Creator. Rights given by man can be taken by man. Rights bestowed by God are unalienable rights.

Liberals, on the other hand, especially the Marxist/socialist liberal leadership and the big leftist feminist, homosexualist, abortionist, anti-religion organizations deny God exists. They deny our Christian/Judeo heritage, work overtime to destroy our traditional family values, and seek to destroy our freedoms, including, and especially our right to the free exercise of religion.

Our deeply rooted conservative belief in God and refusal to roll over for feminism, abortionism, homosexualism, socialism, etc., is the only thing stopping the left from completely overwhelming us with their godless, socialist perversions and completely wiping out our traditional Christian/Judeo God-centered free society.

If we cave-in to the left by nominating a supporter of abortion rights, gay rights, gun control, illegal aliens, etc., as our candidate for the presidency and de facto leader of the Republican party, then we will have destroyed our own pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-liberty movement and will have destroyed all of our prior pro-life, pro family, pro-liberty work. The Republican party will have made itself a joke. It'll be left standing for nothing. Worse, it'll be left standing with NARAL, NOW, the ACLU, and every other feminist/homosexualist Marxist/socialist communist group.

Surrender to the abortionists? Not on your life!

This is Free Republic. We ARE the dissent! We fight for life and liberty! We fight for our traditional American family values! We proudly and diligently defend our Christian/Judeo heritage, our country, our constitution, and our right to be free and to freely worship our God!

IMHO, those of you who cannot or will not understand these simple truths will never understand what FR is all about, what the pro-life movement is all about, what conservatism is all about, or even what freedom is all about.

And if I may be so bold, I'd like to suggest that at some future point, you may wish to take a long hard look at the pro-Rudy agitators and RudyBots (as I call them) and whether their continued presence on FR is more of a detriment than a benefit.

I look at Free Republic as a microcosm of what is happening in America, FR's foundation is exactly as you have stated from the beginning, we ARE 'Pro-God, Pro-Life, Pro-America' and make no apologies for doing so, nor should we (or course the RudyBots are quick to say that the views of Freepers, the results of member polls, etc., have no relation to reality which begs the question: 'why do they spend so much time then, attempting to defy and deny what they consider a state of un-reality'?).

Conservative America is in the early process of being sold a bill of goods in the upcoming election cycle of 2008, because we are being told that Rudy Giuliani is the 'best chance we have to keep Hillary out of the White House' (spoken in a shrill, fearful voice similar to Chicken Little's 'the sky is falling, the sky is falling!').

As I've said in many of my posts, the primaries, nominating conventions, and the general convention is so far off that it is foolishness to buy into this Hillary-based fearmongering, let alone the idea that RudyG is the only guy on a white horse that can 'save' America. There is no guarantee that Hillary is going to be the nominee, and for that reason alone the GOP should not allow itself to be stampeded into annointing a pro-abortion, gun-grabbing New York liberal-RINO as it's nominee, who has less foreign policy experience than John F'in Kerry himself.

Any true conservative with a conscience can not support the views and positions of Giuliani, no matter that he wears the mantle of 9/11 upon his shoulders and his handlers and enablers never let anyone forget about it. OK, he did a good job on 9/11, what has he done since then?

How about cashing in on his burst of fame, and trying to foist the mobbed-up Bernie Kerik on the Bush Administration for 'Homeland Security'? (just to name two things that come to mind).

Ok, Ok, Rudy Giuliani seems to 'get it' when it comes to the War on Islamofascism, but so does the writer Christopher Hitchens, does anyone think that qualifies HIM to be President of the United States?

As I do so often, 'alas I digress' and sorry for that but the incessant beating of the Rudy-drums by a noisy minority of Freepers is way out of proportion for the support he has on this website, and I understand Jim why you might hesitate to ban the Rudy-spammers and agitators who are trying to ram their RINO down our throats. If you show them the door as you did CJL today, there will be a hue and cry about 'censorship' about 'muzzling dissent', and any number of liberal-RINO whines you can imagine, but you know what my Number One Free Republic FRiend?

At the end of the day, it is your website. It is YOUR decision as to who posts and who doesn't, and you can be 100 percent sure that if in some alternate universe, the RudyBots on FR were the owners and operators of this conservative website, they would have already banished everyone to the right of their boy Rudy, meaning, you and me and the 90.1 percent of Freepers who did NOT click 'Rudy' on the FR member poll 'Who do you support in the GOP presidential primaries'.

If Free Republic were a major metropolitan newspaper, you as the Owner, Publisher and Editor-in-Chief would not tolerate for one second if a gang of malcontents representing 10 percent of the local population stormed the newsrooms, demanded to be heard, and insisted on their views and opinions being published, you would not only call security and tell them to bring the nightsticks and pepperspray, you would tell that unruly mob that YOU are the owner of that newspaper and if they don't like what is published, go buy another newspaper, and your publication will not be bullied by the likes of people who have nothing in common with the standards and principles upon which the newspaper was founded.

Anyway, that's my 2 cents+ on the situation and I thank you for making this conservative website possible.

Everyone has certain issues that they think should be put first and that the other guys’ issues should be the ones compromised on. And that’s just where there’s general agreement. Where there is disagreement — as there is between religious conservatism and leave-people-alone conservatism, what starts as a crack can become a schism. The plaster hiding the differences can only stretch so far, before cracks show.
***Well written. Here’s an analogy to work with. Take a small box and fill it with some rocks. Then add some rice, filling it to the top. Now take all the same stuff, but in a different order. Put in the rice first, then add the rocks.

What you’ll find is that if you put in the big stuff first, the small stuff will fit around it. But if you put in the small stuff first, the big stuff won’t have room.

The republican tent is the box. The Big issues are the socon issues, to be put in first. The little issues are things that can be accommodated around the bigger stuff.

A candidate who tries to focus on the smaller issues first and leave out the bigger issues has no way of getting all of us into the tent. He splits the party. The candidate who gets the big stuff right and as much of the little stuff that will fit, he can fit more into the tent. We’re often amazed at how much rice can keep fitting in.

Rudy flunks some of the big issues, and on some of the little issues it looks to me like anyone else’s rice would do just as well.

All that remains for us to agree on is which are the bedrock principles and which are not. Why do you think there is so much invective aimed at rudy from the right? Because there are some bedrock principles that he is leaving out. Bad move. I see rudybot postings all the time saying that they would vote for Hunter, and I see socon postings that say they would not vote for rudy. That’s a BIG indicator of a few bedrock principles that are being left outside the tent in order to let in some rice.
