What does that say about Thompson's capability for developing legislation? He was for it, before he was against it?

Ah, the old 'flip-flop' argument. No, Thompson has not flip-flopped. He still strongly favors trying to clean up campaign financing, but he now realizes that McCain-Feingold isn't the right way to do it.

Do I wish he'd have realized this before? Yes. Would I prefer he had come to the conclusion on Constitutional grounds rather than effectiveness (or lack thereof)? Of course.

And just weeks ago Hillary was on stage demanding, as President, that she would get do-overs if she made mistakes.

It is flipflopping. It is finger-in-the-wind policy making. Opps. Sorry for CFR; we thought it would work [snicker, yeh right, like McCain didn't know it would favor his presidential run, but the sheeple didn't know that, and now 'I'm again' it!' Honest I am.]
