This makes him infinitely better than any currently elected 'rat, and quite a few 'pubbies.

Basically, what you're saying here is that you'd find Thompson to be a more acceptable Presidential candidate if he had helped cover up corruption.

Seems to redound to his credit that he was willing to go against members of his party to get to the TRUTH.
