McCain visits Murrells Inlet [sings: “Bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran,”]

Even though he was nursing a cold, Republican Presidential candidate Sen. John McCain spent nearly 90 minutes talking to nearly 500 people who crammed into the Murrells Inlet VFW Hall Wednesday morning. The “Straight Talk” tour, as it’s called, included stops in Summerville and Charleston.

Another man — wondering if an attack on Iran is in the works — wanted to know when America is going to “send an air mail message to Tehran.” McCain began his answer by changing the words to a popular Beach Boys song. “Bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran,” he sang to the tune of Barbara Ann.

He’s trying to fill a niche among the Conservative base, with his support for the War against Islamofascism. He’s saying the right things, but I doubt his sincerity.

Yes but if elected, will he outlaw Iran and start bombing in five minutes?

Thompson, Hunter and Giuliani are just as pro-”War” (Victory). McCain doesn’t stick out. Anyway he may have been good for some laughs.

Pretty much every Republican candidate is pressing for a victory in Iraq. You also have Romney calling to greatly expand the size of our military. My guess is that you’ll see the same out of the candidates you mentioned.

I don’t think, however, that McCain is being responsible here in the slightest. This is going to hurt him, and probably the Republican Party, as well.

You don’t joke about something like that. Not smart, not diplomatic, and terrible for the party after what happened in 2006.

Agreed. He's nuttier than an box of fruitbats.

McCain and my dad were flight instructors at NAAS Meridian in the 1960's, and would socialize together. Though they weren't exactly tight buddies, they'd share a drink or ten together sometimes. Dad told McCain that he was tougher than hammered owl siht. He was boxing champion at Navy and would often beat up Marine butterbars who tried to pick fights with him at a bar in pre-flight. I don't believe the rumors that he collaborated with the Commies, because he was too ornery for that.

That said, don't forget he was a 3rd generation ring-knocker, and has had connections to the top of the military and industry. One example: my dad told me about was when they were having an inspection from some bigwig Admiral. Dad was at attention, a Marine Lt. to his left and McCain to his right. The Admiral looks at the Lt. and chews him out for a thread that was showing or something like that. Then, the Admiral goes by my dad (dad was always good at spit and shine, so he always did well), then the Admiral went to McCain. Dad could see that McCain's dress whites were in two shades of white (any of you former Navy officers know about this), plus McCain had a 5 o'clock shadow. Dad thought McCain was in for it, when the Admiral shakes McCain's hand and asks how his dad's doing. Also, don't forget that after McCain ditched his first wife, he married money in Arizona.

I don't want him as President. He's too old, his war wounds will catch up with him, and he's too beholden to the Mainstream Media to stand up for GOP principles.

Nuke the hairyarses. merely bombing ‘em means having to deal with ‘em again - later.

Andrew Jackson was ornery (fought duels). James K. Polk was onery (loved stick fighting). Teddy Roosevelt was ornery (damaged vision boxing). Harry Truman was ornery. Dwight Eisenhower and Ronald Reagan were ornery too. All were great presidents, IMHO! Ornery is what we need...what we don't need is "compassionate conservative"! Compassion is for women and it certainly doesn't belong anywhere near a commander-in-chief when we're engaged in the most difficult war of the nation's history. Compassion for Islamists, their culture and their gutter religion is why we're not victorious by now in Iraq!

John McCain, in spite of his patriotic service, is not qualified to hold the office of President of the United States for the following reasons.

1) Health- He is a basket case. He can barely walk, & the ailments we know about should disqualify him, much less the problems he has not disclosed.

2) Temperament- His hair-trigger temper is well known. If you have ever seen him in a committee hearing red-faced, speaking through clenched teeth with veins popping out, it is evident.

3) Ethics- He was up to his eyeballs in the Savings & Loan debacle. That little scam cost the American taxpayers half a trillion bucks. Does anyone want another unindicted co-conspirator in the White House?

4) Experience- The Presidency is an EXECUTIVE position, requiring the office holder to ride herd on about 5 million people in the executive branch & the military. Essentially we are looking at CEO candidates here. The biggest organization McCain has run is his senate office with what? about fifty people? If a CEO candidate showed up before the Board of Directors with that little executive experience, he would be laughed out of the building.

All of the above are non-partisan, practical points, and says nothing about his bad legislation. IMO McCain/Feingold & McCain/Kennedy are bad, & let’s not forget about his forming of the “Gang of Fourteen” to prevent the Republicans from changing the Senate rules to end debate on some issues without sixty votes.

He probably will not come as close to the nomination this time as he did in 2000, so I need not worry. But if you have some nagging reservations about him, maybe some of my points will help you put a finger on why you have doubts about him.

Flame away, folks. My sprinkler system is ready.

I have seen nothing to indicate he doesnt believe fully in the fight against terror or opposition to a Persian bomb......Give McCain that he is solid on national security....its all the other crap that makes you think twice about him..
