Looks like the rats are starting to cave. When Bush digs in they crumble. Give it another week and the time table will be gone.

I hope Bush is going to still veto ... if they keep the PORK in the bill. That would be a great way to alter the debate and diatribe about corruption in Washington.

If the dems aren’t keeping in the unacceptable “teeth”, then there is no reason to bribe for votes with the pork. Therefore, there is no need for the pork once they remove the time limitation.

Translation: We Democrats fund the war, but we REALLY REALLY REALLY suggest for an American SURRENDER by March 2008.

If there is non-manditory date of surrender and pork then President Bush is probably going to have to sign just to get the money.

Couldn’t Congress simply say that, if the benchmarks aren’t met, they won’t fund next year’s supplemental? Their nut roots have dragged them into a battle that didn’t have to be fought now.

I agree lets pull out and REDEPLOY TO IRAN. We ALL know including yourself where the real problem is coming from, and it’s NOT Okinawa. Lets take over their oil fields first, secure the Straight of Hormuz and simultaneously notify China to quit playing around with their exchange rate or they might not get their next shipment of oil. I’m not sure if this action will create too much World Peace for the United States to accept.

True, but good luck getting them to agree to remove any of the pork from the bill.

And still their straight-ticket voter base (including the dead) continues to support their "anti-war" position.
