Just heard anchorette report this on pMSNBC
NBC is vile.
They first showed some on the Nightly News. More new stuff this morning on Taday. They are dribbling it out for maximum effect and rating.
I love the fact that victims families are cancelling their interviews with NBC.
also, keep in mind that schizophrenics tend to make paranoid associations and link things together that are not reasonable and don’t make alot of sense to other people. They are delusional. Even if we figured out what he was referring to, it still may not have any validity.
Even if he did mention Allah or they find a connection to a mosque, we won't hear about it. It would cause a major backlash and a lot of unrest among campuses across the country.
I just heard the video game connection reported on Glenn Beck, fyi. He wouldn’t give the name of the game but said it was extremely violent and the same one another school shooter referenced. Listening with one ear, but that’s the gist.
How does his likening himself to Jesus fit in with the Ismail thing? I’ve not dug into these deep analyses of the name/word, but wasn’t Ishmael the wanderer?
Or was he so scattered that it’s meaning is unknowable?
This guy wanted this attention. I would think he would have made sure his story gets out. Another package may surface today.
I don't see this as a meaningless argument.
When the ATBF calls a AK-47 with a 30 round magazine a Weapon of Mass Destruction -- WMD, they intend something by doing this. Why doesn't the laughing stock media want to show the video of 9/11 ... they don't want to inflame people. Why are the very same media doing what they are now doing, inflaming people, specifically to further the LIBERAL gun control agenda. Want more, see here
If you can't properly define evil, how can you define anything. If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck and walks like a duck ... it must be terrorism.
“It is so obvious that he could have easily done this on his own, yet you want to ignore basic common sense to insinuate that he had help.”
Actually, I am seeking the information. I don’t have it, neither do you. Hence, the questions.
” Thats probably because you have NO COMMON SENSE and are a bit of a moron.”
I have the common sense to ask questions when the facts aren’t apparent. Moron? Well, one of is, but it certainly isn’t me...
“Of course, me responding to such a fool doesnt make me look very bright now that I think about it”
No, you aren’t bright at all...you are, however, arrogant.
I didn’t address the questions to you in the first place.
Don’t bother getting back to me...WPTG was right on the money in his response to you.
Thanks to both of you.
Any thoughts on this?:
“Also, something is bothering me about an interview on TV today...one of the roommates, (cant remember the name, middle eastern), stated that he didnt speak with Cho, but knew Cho had started going to the gym. Wonder why he said this...wonder if thats where Cho was going...”
Seems odd.
on the fact
I agree with you mainepatsfan, Cho should not have been out on the streets. But, just like always, like child abuse, like many many things, society and authorities err on the side of protecting the rights of sickos like this.
How many times have we heard about a child, previously abused by parents, returned to the same parents only to be killed. I could go on and on but am at work and don’t have time.
Cho can be defined as many things but a domestic terrorist fills the bill IMO.
“Ishmael, father of the Arabs, was the product of that failure.”
Another possibility, perhaps, of Cho’s alliance with Ishmael as the outcast:
Genesis 16:12 “He shall be a wild ass of a man, his hand against everyone, and everyone’s hand against him; In opposition to all his kin shall he encamp.”
I did notice that he was obssessively fixated on alcohol consumption and reserved special contempt for those who drank alcohol.
We are in what the British fondly call a "sticky Wicket" regarding mental illness.
We must keep in mind that the person has what it know as a disease. A disease of the mind that in many cases can be treated successfully.
Granted, there is certainly a public safety issue. But how do you balance that with a persons rights. How do you force a person to seek medical care without damaging or inhibiting a persons desire to seek care voluntarily?
If we place a huge scarlet letter on everyone who exhibits or incurs some sort of psychological problem during his or her lifetime, we will push all of these people, and there are millions who would qualify, into a state of fear and apprehension. They would be forced to keep the problem a closely held secret and never seek help, for fear of being exposed and labeled as a danger to society. MILLIONS OF PEOPLE.
So there is the problem in a nutshell and why the current system relies largely on the voluntary nature of seeking medical care on your own.
Is there a happy and efficient middle ground?
Maybe....But it is a delicate balancing act.
Not a single person on the planet wants to be labeled with a crazy tag. Millions seek help on their own for depression and the related psychological problems, some of which obviously plagued this shooter. I believe that because of his ethnic heritage and Asian ways, he would never have sought help. Not in a million years, because of the stigma.
I think the best thing we can do as a free society and one that wants to remain free, is to do more to remove the stigma, and not make it worse.
But that's just me.
LOL! Of all the things people say on here, jerk is the thing that sets you off?
Just a tad bit defensive this morning, eh?
