Times change yes they do but natural laws do not, wealth requires production of something of value. Haircuts, house cleaning and yard work are not the stuff of a great wealth producing nation.What are you talking about? We produce plenty of wealth! Like the little pieces of paper that the Chinese give us money for so we can buy their stuff ;)
