You forget that those police officers that wear the combat fatigues are members of SWAT police teams. In situations such as what was seen at VT, they play a very important role in going after shooters such as the VT shooter. They are often trained in the military. Also remember that the police had to make very fast on one’s feet decisions in a major emergency such as what happened at VT.

Diito #3 on the combat fatigue thing. I take the point that they are practical, but do they really need the latest night vision cammo pattern? They are policemen, not soldiers. They should dress as such. If they need to wear loose, easey to clean clothes, they should still be blue and say POLICE in big letters on the back. The creeping militarization of police functions has also led to many unneccessary deaths in America.

I’m not sure what the original source is, but the info that it was his video game ID is reported here:

<< The words “Ismail Ax” were found inscribed on his arm in red ink, apparently a reference to his Xbox 360 gamertag. Friends said Cho would stay in his room and play Battlefield 2 for hours. Xbox Live have removed the gamer tag. >>

Of course, that begs the question as to why he chose “Ismail Ax” as his gamer tag. I think it extremely unlikely it has anything to with a Turkish doctor, James Fenimore Cooper or Herman Melville.

One more thing, I for one am thoroughly sick of seeing policemen dressed in combat fatigues.

I find clearly out-of-shape policemen in combat gear to be off putting, too.

Seung expressed disappointment for Christianity in his note before the bloodbath.

From the link you provided:

He also expressed disappointment in his own religion, and made several references to Christianity, the official said.

It doesn't say that he was Christian, or that he was expressing disappointment in Christianity.

<< The words “Ismail Ax” were found inscribed on his arm in RED ink,>>

Is this a common thing to do?

Notice first victims Myspace page.

See pic of guy with cigar in left hand and take note of his right arm.

Tell me what you see. I see RED ink symbol on his arm.

Is this some joke or coincidink?

....."Does she write it in red ink on her forearm?".....

Not that I know of, but her constant oiling of her quad .50's and working the bolt back and forth is starting to concern me.

Does having flames tattooed on her inner thigh mean the same as red ink?

I don't know, I'll have to consult my resident "gamer"...(his gamer tag is rather "graphic" too.)

Seriously, I just asked my daughter what all this stuff meant, and she said the Ismail Ax thing could also be his Klan. Certain games have groups of players that like each others company so they form a Klan. They go to Rainbow 6 or Battlefield or Halo and play as a team killing all others. I said he liked Battlefield 2 and she said it's a good strategy type game to ambush people. We may find that some XBOX people step forward and say they know Ismail Ax or his Klan.

Her Klan is "Dead in 30 Seconds" or DI30S.

She said her group would go to differing games to show their skills and the residents there would threaten them and some have even tracked people down to their houses and had to be removed by force. If you are the champ of Halo and some strangers show up to kick your butt, it seems to make them angry. There are films on Youtube showing this behavior. If I can find one I'll post it.

She says they really have trouble when they find out she wiped out their whole Klan in about 2 minutes and she’s a girl.

A klan of jihadi youth might think a tag like that was cool.
