Welcome to FreeRepublic and the DOSE. We honor and appreciate our President and appreciate his leadership in the trying times in which we live. Glad to have you here.
Thanks Snugs! They’re great!
Thanks for posting your thoughts. Sounds like you'll fit right in here. :)
I had thought about you Kate - wondering if VT was your school.
Glad it is not.
‘He is the rat gov that gave the rebuttal to President Bushs 2006 SOTU’
Forgot about that....thanks for bringing me back to reality.
Naaaah, I find that very hard to believe. Probably comes from one of those famous "unnamed sources"
As I told SevenofNIne, I must have missed it. Sure saw plenty of it on the covers of the Globe though, and remember at the time wondering why no one else was bringing it up.
We have a bed and breakfast, and a couple of weeks ago we had a couple from Dallas staying with us who actually know the Bushes. According to them you could not meet a finer couple anywhere. What you see is what you get with them-- down to earth, honorable, decent people.
:)
It’s great to read the positive steps in your dad’s healing process. It’s a lot to ask of an older person, to go through all that. I’m very glad he has you, Eleanor, to love and look after him in this affliction.
One of those “unnamed sources” who sounds like he/she reports for a UK tabloid. Ever notice how over-the-top they are in their descriptions of emotional reactions? “The Queen is livid,” “Prince William is furious,” etc. They put it to an art form to find the most ridiculous descriptors.
Hmmmm never even thought about that possibility. Certainly sounds plausible. I forgot to mention in my last reply, the guests that stayed with us when asked what they thought about the "rumors" just rolled there eyes, and said something like "when pigs fly".
