No. I do not think it was the girl. The guy is utterly whacked out of his brain and has been for a very long, long time. Read his play on thesmokinggun.com. This is not the typical 'domestic style killing' by a controlling jealous boyfriend or girlfriend. I bet the young lady hadn't ever even spoken/or had a meaningful conversation to/with the kid. His roomates say he never talked with them and if he did it was one word answers. My bet, she didn't even really know who this person was.

Read that play. This is major whacked. If it was my student, I would have certainly tagged him for serious concern. You can feel the rage and insanity in the script. There are small thinks that jump out that he is more then just a Tarantino want to be (which I have seen/read a lot of that sort of writing as well). I would love to hear other's thoughts on this play and thee situation overall.

Witnesses to the shooting said that the gunman was involved in an argument with a girlfriend

Seems to be at odds with the descriptions of the gunman as a loner who never spoke to anyone else. Apparently he had a girlfriend, who he murdered first?

THIS is the face of the girl who may have sparked the worst school shooting in US history.

That sentence makes me sick to my stomach. How DARE that responsibility be attached to her name. The press is horrific.

Lunatic and questionable taste as well.

She's nice but not Helen of Troy.

I’m picking up certain details in this report that I didn’t exactly hear elsewhere. Like...

“Witnesses to the shooting said that the gunman was involved in an argument with a girlfriend and had later stormed out of the dormitory building.

A counsellor – believed to be Mr Clark, who was also a resident adviser – was called to calm the situation at the dormitory.

The gunman returned at 7.15am and shot Ms Hilscher and Mr Clark. US media reported that Mr Clark had been shot in the neck.”

To me, that means that there was an argument at an earlier time, and then the shooter left (before shooting anyone). Then he returned at 7:15 am and shot the girl he had been arguing with earlier.

As far as the sequence of events for the first two shootings, another student reported this...

Virginia Tech student Chen Chia-hao told Taiwan cable TV about the first shootings.

“They had a big quarrel in the West Ambler Johnston Hall and he shot her. Then the RA (dormitory supervisor) came, and he shot the RA,” Mr Chen said.

Apparently the “neighbor” who was also the RA had been there “earlier” to quell the argument. And then the shooter returned to shoot the girl. The neighbor (and RA) came out of the room and went over there (probably hearing a big commotion) and he got shot.

The article says — “ The pair were neighbours in rooms 4040 and 4042 on the fourth floor of the West Ambler Johnston Hall dormitory...”

That adds a tiny bit of detail — if one can trust the reporting to be accurate.

Who gets dropped off at YOUR dorm at 6:30 in the AM unless you’ve been someplace else all night doing something else that the killer didn’t like! He was up early each morning to stalk her return to the dorm as the boyfriend dropped her off. Choy didn’t like that!

Interestingly enough, her face structure reminds me of Chelsea Clinton. Broad set eyes and high cheek bones.

R.I.P. young one.

"THIS is the face of the girl who may have sparked the worst school shooting in US history."

What an offensive statement. His own sick mind sparked the shooting. The blame game is out of hand to have sunk this low down.

Well..., the title says — “Was gunman crazed over Emily?”

BUT, at the news conference, today (Wednesday), they said that they know of *no connection* to the murdered girl. However, he said that because they didn’t know, doesn’t mean that they won’t find out that there was a connection in another day or two or next week (a “hedge” on their part, obviously).

The bottom line is that they have not been able to establish any “connection” with this murdered girl. To me that would mean that the shooter had not talked to or gone out with this girl before. Why he was up there talking to her in the first place is a puzzle — then. I think she was on the fourth floor. And there are card key entry systems to get in (but they can get in easily by following someone else in).

Someone in the news conference asked (when it was stated that there was *no connection* with this girl) — if he meant “real or imaginary”. And the spokesman answered, “No, real or imagined”.

I guess that goes to the reports that the shooter had an *imaginary girlfriend* (a dorm-mate said the imaginary girlfriend was named “Jelly”).

It’s interesting but still confusing...
