Tech killer was 'obsessed' with girl who had new boyfriend (New info)
Timed of London ^ | 4/17/2007

Posted on 04/17/2007 12:41:47 PM PDT by Rutles4Ever

Her smile shines out of the pictures posted on the Facebook website under the title of “Why Emily Hilscher was cooler than me”.

The girl who is believed to have obsessed the Virginia Tech killer, Cho Seung-Hui - and may have been his first victim - had a lot of friends. More than 200 had posted tributes on the website today.

Ella Miller, an old class mate, wrote: “I remember her untieing my shoes with a fork, when we played in the woods around her house in the club house, going to the beach with her and her family. Spending the night at her house and staying up late playing cards, her teaching me how to play the saxaphone, summer crab feasts, swimming in the river, jumping on trampolines in the rain, backstreet boys concert, her putting worms on her nose lol...and it wasn’t just her personality - she was gorgeous!!”

Photographs on the same website show a pretty young woman, preparing for a toga party, going on an 8th grade field trip, and arriving at her high school prom. Described as a straight “A” student, Ms Hilscher, 18, spent most of her free time horse riding and hoped to become a vet.

”I’m interested in pretty much everything,” she wrote on her MySpace page, in which she refers to herself as “The Pixie”.

She added: “My friends are what keeps me smiling. I’m into snowboard, riding and music. Give me something I can bang my head to or dance like crazy, and I’m all over it.”

Ms Hilscher had met a new boyfriend, about whom she gushed about on her page. “I live, love and get booted but eventually that will change...I now have a wonderful guy who is hopefully going to change all of that.” College friends said her new boyfriend had just dropped her off before the massacre.

Ms Hilscher, a first year student who was studying animal and poultry sciences and equine science, was the next-door neighbour of Ryan Clark, a residential adviser at the dormitory where the shooting started.

It is believed that a morning argument in the dormitory at the Virginia Tech campus led Cho to kill the teenager and Mr Clark who had attempted to come to her aid.

Her grandmother, Merle Hilscher, 71, described the tight bond Emily had with big sister Erica, 21, who attended a nearby university. “They were very close all their lives,” she said.

“Now one of them is ended, but we have to carry on.”

On her Facebook tribute page today, Cody Yager wrote: “Emily was one of my first friends here at [Virginia] Tech. How could such a beautiful soul be removed from our lives?”

Will Sonnett from Rappahannock County High School in rural Virginia, said: “Emily Hilscher was cooler than me because she could make friends with a glance and a smile. She never hesitated to make someone, anyone feel at home with kindness and an open mind. Thanks for being awesome to lame little 8th graders, and for making stupid computer classes unforgettable.”

There you go. There are four statements Vision made that have no basis in fact. There is nothing on her MySpace page that those things could be inferred from. They are lies made to slur a dead woman. That is some sort of sick obsession not unlike the one the shooter had.

Your posts are bizarre though.

Sadly, they are not. They are the posts of a puritan, who sees a girl who cusses and shows a little skin and therefore infers she must be "easy." Because she's "easy," she must be willing to do anything that moves, and so must have done the shooter. She must have also done the RA, therefore offending the shooter.

The thought process of a holier-than-thou puritan.

Somewhat related question for the group.. I read earlier that the shooter was 23, q senior, and his roomate said he was strange, never spoke to him. His roomie was 19, which makes him a frosh or a soph, at best. Isn’t it highly unusual in college for a senior to be rooming with a freshman? And if he was so creepy..why didn’t the roomie ask for, and get.. a change..

"Maybe the new boy friend was the guy who the police said was “a person of interest?"

The old one and the new one were. The old one was being interrogated when the 2nd shooting occurred. Anyone involved would have been a person of interest.

1. I believe I said that from the pictures and dialog found on the web, and since this looked like a crime of passion involving a few men, that she might have been easy. Again, if my sister had a picture like that up I’d go off on her.

2. If you won’t accept that, I don’t know what to say with you. Are you serious?

3. & 4. That’s what is the world wide news, right?

Where am “I” lying?

Even if she slept with the whole football team (I’m being sarcastic) you think that means she deserved to be killed? What exactly are you saying? By the way, that My Space page is very tame and she made NO indication that she was EASY. You just don’t know the way kids talk now, that’s all.

The thought process of a holier-than-thou puritan.

We spilled a hell of a lot of blood uprooting that kind of thinking in Afghanistan, as well.

Unlike her thoughts and your post, my responses are coherent.

Wow, that post must really have been an epic megafailure, Vision.

Isn’t it a little early to be blaming the vicitim?

Not especially uncommon. A kid whose friends don't live on campus will be assigned a roommate. A loner kid isn't going to be selecting his own roommate. Statistically, assigned roommates will probably be an incoming freshman.

The link you provided was to a British tabloid newspaper that merely stated, “...she may or may not have been involved with Ryan Clark.”
That’s like me saying I may or may not have been the father of Anna Nicole’s baby.

And “initial reports” are just that, preliminary and usually subject to much change before the truth finally comes out.

So, please stop asserting as a fact that Ryan Clark was the new boyfriend.
Your supposed “proofs” are pathetic.
I have read several reliable reports that said he was merely acting in a professional manner and trying to intervene in an argument between poor Emily and the murderer.

Your obsession with trashing this poor young woman’s memory is very strange and troubling, especially for a self-professed Christian.

I think you hit the wrong guy.

Vision is your target. I'm challenging his whole assumptions.

Given today’s hyper-sexual world, it seems to me to be just setting the kids up for problems.

I'm with you on that, so I guess I'm an old fogey, too. I graduated from college 33 years ago (GAK, that's a long time!) and the school still even had curfews of midnight on weeknights and 1 am on the weekends. I never had to fool with any of that because I lived at home, but my parents knew where I was, when it was after midnight or 1am, cause I was usually at work!

When our daughter started looking for colleges last year, it was very hard to find even Catholic schools that did not have some sort of co-ed arrangement! But find one she did, and has been very happy at school this year.

LOL, are you for real?

Saying a slutty picture is a slutty picture gets me compared to the talaban? Wow, where were you when I was a teen and looking for a cheap date?

Everyone ...

Just a suggestion ... just ignore “Vision” and his baiting on this thread. It is obvious that this person’s elevator is not servicing the top floor of the building. Pay him no mind and move on. Nothing could cause him more agitation than being ignored. This guy is relishing the agitation that he is causing from the safety of his keyboard. Sad but true. Pray for him and others out there like him. Pray that he will find some type of solace and empathy within his heart and soul. Thanks everyone.

Peace out,

Front 242
