One possible source of the gunman's reference to "Ismail Ax" on inside of his arm is... James Fenimore Cooper's The Prairie. Character Ishmael Bush had an axe. "And the axe, which created and transformed through destruction, clears the figurative way for the deflowering of the New World."
The axe is apparently both literal and symbolic, and references are made about the character's having moved from the east to the west, creating change through the destruction (using the axe), and the like. Just a possibility, esp. for someone who was an English major?
Today it’s reported that his family lived in Saudi Arabia for 10 years working and saving enough to come to the US and start their laundry business. You think in that 10 years this guy was indoctrinated into some Nut Case Arab Group? Ishmael’s Axe.

I pretty much LOOOOVE the Bush government, and AMERICA, and God (NOT Allah), and I think the terrorists should be met with the ULTIMATE FORCE, and we should have taken the gloves off years ago and NOT made our FANTASTIC MILITARY fight with one hand tied behind their backs, because militant Islam is HORRIBLE and should be WIPED OFF THE FACE OF THIS EARTH, so that Peace can reign, and tyrants can be banished to he11, where they belong!

I imagine there's a process in place to report that kind of freepmail to the proper authorities in addition to investigating if he's a retread.

Long article, and overlooking some anti-Bush sentiment, the restatement of what we’ve known for a long time is happening just beneath the radar in mosques is still so disturbing. I guess I’m relieved someone is looking into this, because someone needs to, but it’s still terrifying.
I haven’t heard of this organization or their credibility. I don’t know if they’re whackjobs or not, but:
the next president, whomever it is, will have to walk that line between PC diplomacy and our essential security, and be primed and armed to take a firm stand in what may well be an increase in this type of horror and frightening insecurity in our daily lives. Merciful God, help us.

I have already written of a real threat in this country that is now fermenting in the many Islamic cells operating Stateside.
These Muslims are now recruiting suicide murderers to carry out a grand attack against several elementary schools, either directly on the buildings, or by hijacking a school bus, or even by infiltrating a school bus transportation company and kidnapping the school children on many dozen buses at one time. Anyone who doubts my intelligence can ask the Israelis or the Russians if the Muslims are capable of this kind of planned atrocity.
I pray, and yes as an American Christian I pray, we will not arrive at work one day to hear all of the news reports of such a tragedy unfolding only to hear an FBI spokesman tell us that there is absolutely no evidence that the kidnappings or murders were the result of a planned terrorist assault. But make no mistake about it.
We have a real problem in this country and it is the fear of saying what we know to be true. Islam and Islamic law is the evil ideology of our day seeking our destruction and it is the Muslim, either as the Shari’a faithful or the potential Shari’a faithful who represent the army of enemy combatants we will face on any given day.
You know the problem we face when you hear the FBI official testify before Congress that there is a real problem with Muslim recruitment among “minority” (translated: African American) incarcerated felons but he begins his testimony with a statement which denies the very reality he is seeking to explain.
A case in point would be the statement by Donald Van Duyn, Deputy Assistant Director, Counterterrorism Division Federal Bureau of Investigation, before the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs and Related Agencies on September 19, 2006: “Before I begin, I would like to emphasize that Islam itself is not the problem but rather how Islam is used by violent extremists to inspire and justify their actions.”
Has this deputy assistant director of counter-terrorism ever studied Islamic law and the ideology of Jihad?
Has he visited the mosques and day schools right here in this country while undercover when Arabic is being spoken and not some white-washed English version of Islam for public consumption?
Either he knows nothing of Islam and the terror threat we face or he is a liar. It boils down to that.
But those of us at the Society of Americans for National Existence (SANE)
will simply not tolerate this kind of fatal incompetence or intentional ignorance. This is why we have already begun to implement our project Mapping Shari’a in America.
If you wish to learn more about it, we have dedicated an entire web site to this program to provide the public who wish to support our work with information and the opportunity to come on board and join the effort. Our work product will be available to the public and we will develop a specialized version for law enforcement agencies. But the answer does not lie with the federal government or even with the local police.
The answer and the response to this threat depends on public awareness and response. When we learn that there is a mosque around the corner preaching Jihad every Friday in Arabic to the faithful, we need to know and we need to respond like we would if we learned that a known pedophile had moved into an apartment building next door to an elementary school.
With the Mapping Shari’a in America project, ignorance will no longer be a valid excuse for inaction. After 9-11, apathy is no longer an option.
This is more than a non-profit public service project. This is an effort to preserve the future of our nation and of our children.
