BLACKSBURG, Va. -- The suspected gunman in the Virginia Tech shooting rampage, Cho Seung-Hui, was a troubled 23-year-old senior from South Korea who investigators believe left an invective-filled note in his dorm room, sources say.

The note included a rambling list of grievances and ended with the words "Ismail Ax" in red ink on the inside of one of his arms.

I was googling on the phrase "deceitful charlatans ". It turns out this kid was really turned off by Christianity. That passage I posted probably summed up his views - with death, killing, and all.

I suspect he read it along the way - but I have no evidence at this point in time.

It’s easy to get turned of by religion because of the hypocrisy. In most cases, all religions are shunned, especially the monotheistic ones.

A bit more from a recent AP Story:

A law enforcement official who read Cho's note described it Tuesday as a typed, eight-page rant against rich kids and religion. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media.

"You caused me to do this," the official quoted the note as saying.

Cho indicated in his letter that the end was near and that there was a deed to be done, the official said. He also expressed disappointment in his own religion, and made several references to Christianity, the official said.

This kid was in pain for years. My parents live quite near his hometown and heard an interview with high school classmates that indicated that he has been alienated for years.

He probably is depressed at least, perhaps even schizophrenic. I’m generalizing, but I guess that the family and his church had traditional Asian characteristics—hard work, stoicism and achievement above all. He couldn’t achieve, was in pain and the community would not recognize mental illness as anything more than a weakness.

Then he hears the church preach about the love of God. In his paranoid, delusional mind, the church’s inaction is the ultimate denial of his pain.

It comes out in his rantings.

Yes. There is no salvation outside of the Church, none.

Looks like this domain was purchased today. Someone out there thought they might be able to profit from this “act of terror”.

People have been known to register domains to prevent others from doing just that. Wait and see.

Oh, crap! Did you see the girl on the bottom of page 10 of that crossfather.skyrock link you posted? It's right-click disabled, so I don't know how to post it. Is it this same girl? (she is the first one murdered at VT - the alleged love interest) Go to the crossfather link and compare with this pic:

Thanks Veto - I didn’t know that he was going off Effexor cold turkey until after the event. This happened 3 years ago, and out of sensitivity to the family, I’ve never pursued if someone (friend or family) had encouraged him to stop taking his medication.

Agree with your assessment of Ismael Ax. Applying that story to the facts of the case, how do you interpret the meaning as it applies to Cho et al?

Hmmmm...search warrant applied for looking into “instructional manuals for acts of destruction and acts of terror” Found some tools and some books and some writings and some graph paper. Strangely (not) no “violent video games played under the name Ismail Ax” are mentioned.

Funny thing is, I don’t think there is any arab Isaac, since they can’t acknowledge he ever existed as that would mean Yishmael was not the sole heir to Abraham

According to Wikipedia (yeah, I know) The Arabic equivalent of Isaac is Ishaq.
