Hee’s an idea for the leadership: Offer a training course for citizens in how to deal with terrorist situations, shootings, emergencies, riots, etc. Include fire arms training, first aid, survival techniques, emergency planning for facilities, communications techniques and so on. Link it with local law enforcement. There could be multiple levels of training (green belt, brown belt, black belt). Goal should be to get 100% of our citizens trained in at least the basics, whether they are in a nursing home, an elementary school or work in a skyscraper. Citizens need to be prepared and be accountable for their own survival instead of playing the vicim and blaming the police or the government for their plight. Terrorism and nutballs are going to be long-term threats to our society and we need to face up to it. The NRA can assume a leadership role in this effort.

I think that’s a great idea.

I also think that the chances of it ever happening are zero.

I am training myself.

I have taken my own oath to defend the US Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, same as military, some LE, and politicians.

I urge all others to do the same.

I do not believe the founding fathers wrote the Second Amendment because they belive that civilians simply owning firearms would prevent all efforts at tyranny. I believe their intent was to have those weapons available if the actual use of firearms became the only way to protect our Constitutional rights.

All governments rule by the consent of the governed.

Live free or die.
