Hee’s an idea for the leadership: Offer a training course for citizens in how to deal with terrorist situations,
shootings, emergencies, riots, etc. Include fire arms training, first aid, survival techniques, emergency
planning for facilities, communications techniques and so on. Link it with local law enforcement. There
could be multiple levels of training (green belt, brown belt, black belt). Goal should be to get 100% of our
citizens trained in at least the basics, whether they are in a nursing home, an elementary school or work in
a skyscraper. Citizens need to be prepared and be accountable for their own survival instead of playing
the vicim and blaming the police or the government for their plight. Terrorism and nutballs are going to be
long-term threats to our society and we need to face up to it. The NRA can assume a leadership role in
this effort.

I think that’s a great idea.

I also think that the chances of it ever happening are zero.

I am training myself.

I have taken my own oath to defend the US Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, same as military, some LE, and politicians.

I urge all others to do the same.

I do not believe the founding fathers wrote the Second Amendment because they belive that civilians simply owning firearms would prevent all efforts at tyranny. I believe their intent was to have those weapons available if the actual use of firearms became the only way to protect our Constitutional rights.

All governments rule by the consent of the governed.

Live free or die.

A .22 caliber cannot penetrate a text book for sure and a 9mm is considered a bare minimum as a conceal carry firearm. (9mm is not that powerful of a weapon) As a matter of fact I highly doubt a 9mm would get through a one inch text book.

I think you are wrong. Have you personally tried shooting textbooks with either caliber to back up your claim? Next time I go shooting, I'll find out for sure. 9mm was certainly powerful enough to kill 33 people, wasn't it?

If they allow residents of other countries to join, I’m in.

And I don’t even own a gun. I just really believe in protecting Second Amendment rights.

I have shot through telephone books with a .22 caliber rifle and a 9mm pistol, among other weapons. A couple of friends and I were testing penetrating power and bullet mushrooming on a couple of different types of ammunition.

If memory serves, FMJ’s in almost any caliber will penetrate at least an inch through telephone books, but JHP’s tend not to punch as far. I am afraid I do not remember the details of our experiments, but I did pick up CCI Stingers for my .22 and Black Talons for my 9mm for future use.

I think all of your observations and points are valid. Telephone books are made from soft paper. The only experiment that I want to try is shooting through textbooks whose paper is glossy and has a clay content — I predict those would be more resistant to penetration. I think a 40-grain solid .22 slug stands a good chance of penetrating a one inch textbook.

Was Ho Frankenfeinstein packing her pistol in her purse when she attacked the Second Amendment?

Just like Corzine pushing for mandatory seat belt laws he himself ignored, these liberals are best described by an old Greek word -

HYBRIS.

The gun-grabbers aren’t going to be too active - they are holding their powder in reserve.

They want to wait until after the presidential elections so they can get a liberal or Democrat president to sign all the anti-gun bills on their Christmas list.

THIS is why its essential to get a pro-Constitutional Presidential candidate NOMINATED and ELECTED.
