“I have always said that squads of gunmen dispersed across the country to commit random shootings would be a diabolically effective means of terrrorizing our open societyno nukes, bombs, or military training required. Remember the hysteria caused by the DC Sniper? You couldnt pump gas from Boston to Richmond without bobbing your head. Imagine that times 20.”
Didn’t Chuck Norris make a movie like that?
LOL!
The old "test run" theory again. We used to get a lot of these everytime an unattended cardboard box was found in a train station.
I don't buy the test run theory. When you kill thirty-two people, it's hard to imagine the response conditions you just found, will remain that way in future attacks.
The gunman was said to be of Asian appearance and dressed in maroon hat, leather jacket and black-military style shooting vest.
He had ammunition strapped across his chest as he calmly walked from room to room refilling his two 9mm handguns as he shot students.
He locked the doors of several classrooms to stop anyone escaping. Some terrified students jumped for their lives from fourthfloor windows, while others used desks to barricade doors.
Because the buyer may not have been the shooter.
I’m with the blogger. The governments involved had better get this outrage investigated, AND resolved effectively, very quickly. This could haunt Tech and Virginia for a very long time if they don’t.
Hardly a law enforcement type, I am extremely disappointed at the seeming level of ineptitude. They all want to have press conferences, then answer cagily, instead of actually answering the important questions. (Why have a press conference if you can’t/won’t answer THE questions?)We found out who the perps were at the Trade Center and in OKC before we will know who the shooter is in Virginia. Somehow, that really seems skewed-—or is it screwed?
See post #31...
Scary scenario.
......or times thousands? Jose Padilla’s trial process started today. What if there was a parallel?
Here’s what the PLA could hope to accomplish with such an attack, if it was a probe for a later attack on a larger scale (such as the beginning of a war).
* To instigate more “gun control” laws in the USA.
* To harass, of course.
* To probe for the possibility that they might take out most of a cycle of officer candidates in our nation.
...remember the Chinese probe on our Internet root servers a while back? They only ran DoS attacks on a couple of root servers but slowed address routing down significantly.
I dunno. Did he? LOL
The questions that I have regards who fed the police the disinformation which had them looking for a white guy in a pick-up truck and led them to go to an elementary school where they thought could be a place of future violence. The police MAY HAVE BEEN LED to believe the shooter had a relationship with the woman, but that doesn’t fit as you point out the MO of the shooter in Norris.
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
Thanks, but must have heavy traffic...will not load.
Sorry, but I don’t think those with “green cards” should be eligible for gun permits. Its just too easy for the bodies to quickly pile up at the hands of someone who is here “on probation”. All to often “Immigration” has no clue who these people are.
1. Why the two-hour gap?
2. Whats site #2 got to do with site #1, if jealousy is the motive?
3. Why werent cops everywhere on campus after the first episode?
Anyone?"<<
Assume the worst.
This initial security and subsequent probe has been ugly, sloppy and too secretive, so expect the investigation to be the same.
Absolutely.
Spot on.
Or MY nightmare would be squads of these guys fanning out into subdivisions all over the nation on the same day at the same hour and randomly spraying 7.62 rounds at anything alive then fleeing the scene.
Talk about TERROR!
We’d become a nation of prisoners in our own homes and this place would grind to a halt.
