VA Tech Attack A Premeditated Act Or Jealous Act Of Rage?
Strata-Sphere ^ | April 16th, 2007 | AJStrata

It seems the Massacre at VA Tech (where I went to school briefly) was premeditated. The reasons are clear in the latest reports. First off the man took a gun to confront his girlfriend, who was more than likely trying to get out of sufficating relationship (I have seen this pattern before, but with less violent results). When he did not get what he wanted and an RA came to deal with the commotion the man pulled his gun and killed the girlfriend and RA. This means the man planned the confrontation and brought the gun with him.

The second act was also premeditated since the man came with guns and clips and the ability to chain the doors (when I was there there were no chains even wrapped on the doors to close them). Finally there is reporting that the bomb threats in the prior weeks were tests of the response time of the authorities. Combined with the news the man was a 24 year old from China shows a combination of military training (not OUR military lefties) and planning.

What really worries me is if this was a test for other attacks. If the man was testing College responses then the key would be to make this look like anything BUT a terrorist attack. I am not making the claim here this was terrorist related, but the man did not seem to be looking for his girlfriend’s lover, he seemed to be out trying to kill anyone he ran across. A perfect diversion for a test run would be a lover’s quarrel. And ending it in a ’suicide’ negates the ability to get to the bottom of his motives. Of course violent jealousy is not uncommon, and more so in male dominated societies like those in Asia and the ME. In those places killing women is like throwing away property. But something is not right here. For someone who was in the emotional throws of jealousy, the attack shows signs of careful planning and cold execution. The two characteristics do not mix. Careful planning and cool execution implies a lot of self control and discipline, things which are in complete opposition to an out of control act of rage.

Update: It seems I am not the only one who thinks this was a well planned out massacre (H/T Flopping Aces):

“Investigators believe Cho at some point had been taking medication for depression. They are examining Cho’s computer for more evidence.”

Millions and millions of people have taken anti depressants and never harmed anyone.

This is often a copout to cover the ugly reality of serial killers. Families of the serial killers and liberals can blame anti depressants which help most people instead of saying this SOB was a mentally ill serial killer. Then throw in the serial killing religion of Islam, and we have the profile of many of today’s terrorist Serial Killers.

"That's why they're so dangerous."

Indeed.

Plus I think there's a tendency to want to deny that a single whackjob can go off and create a lot of death and mayhem. It tends to disturb our sense of security so absent any info to the contrary we often make it into something more than it is.

Weather this incident is “something more than it is” is irrevelent. Our enemies are watching this very closely. Expect and prepare for more of the same.

It was pre-meditated. This kid was a mental mess.....probably enhanced by these so called wonderful depression pills that pushed him over the edge like my friends son who shot himself in the head from taking depression meds.

Another little item to add to the list of things to be considered.

Yesterday was Holocaust Remembrance Day.

I had thought it was a couple of days earlier, but no, it was April 16.

Coincidence? Perhaps. Or perhaps not.

Well, just found another reference that may argue AGAINST the Muslim theory. Maybe he’s a screwed up nutcase with family problems.

Smoking Gun has POSTED A COPY OF HIS VIOLENT STORY written for an English class.

Girlfriend a possible intended accomplice, got cold feet or started to screw up, the perp killed her since she knew too much. Curious RA in wrong place at wrong time. Can’t discount the possibilities.

Appears he was stalking her, not dating her. In his demented mind, he may have planned to cause her to walk across campus with him then murder her with others in Norris Hall. The premeditation is what leads to complex connections, but don’t think she was in on this evil, unless there is some evidence that the Walther was to be her weapon, in his mind that is.

"It seemed as if you were comparing a mass-murderer's mindset to that of an ordinary G.I."

That wasn't my intent. Serial murderers follow obsessions/compulsions. Enemy guerrillas are sometimes essentially devoid of emotions about killing and/or murdering. But what sets them apart from ours, is that they follow immoral orders with immoral cultural mindsets. In violent areas, I would be wary of any who are very emotional about killing (much fear or anger) or immoral/rebellious against human rights (pathological, evil,...).

But now the media has informed us that they were going on rumors with the accusations against a Chinese man, and that the murder suspect was an ROK citizen with a US residence visa. With 14 years in the USA, the young man must have trained (at least with much firing) here. ...shame.

Ernest, I’ve listened to much, and read lots, about this today. It’s particularly telling to me that Cho’s creative writing professor singled him out of probably hundreds of other students for a counseling referral. IF it was that obvious, why did it take so long for the police to figure out what was going on and who was responsible?

I think this Cho fella was suffering paranoid-schizophrenic onset. I don’t say that as an excuse, but merely as an observation. He was a loner, delusional, had a persecution complex, was obviously violent, and he was the right age. Now, it really doesn’t matter much whether he was on meds or not, except maybe a lot of college kids would still be alive if he had been.

Oh, I think their US News and World Reports rankings are hosed based on their campus murder rate.
