Aren't most guns, involved in gun crimes, legally purchased at one time and subsequently either sold or stolen ?

or do you think most of the gun crimes are from guns smuggled into this country ?

Read the whole article and marvel: it says 33 dead, at least 22 injured and 17 treated; if 33 are dead, how many people died without injuries?

Welcome, member #272347...

You sure use a lot of semantically loaded words...

The worst crime here is the prohibition against self defense at VT.

The administrators have committed manslaughter.

Port Arthur AU.

Gunman kills 35, wounds 18.

This in a country noted for gun control.

Waiting for the fallout here - in an election year will be painfull.

You’ve registered to the wrong place if you’re a member of the brady bunch. This is a conservative forum that supports the second amendment right to own a firearm, something your posting history suggests you do not.

This is really dreadful. It reminds me of Charles Whitman’s little bell tower rampage on UT back in 1966.

Anybody who would give up liberty for security will soon be living in tyranny. Natural solutions to spiritual and moral problems only leads to more problems, and further away from the real solution. When the Spirit of the Lord is strong, the forces of evil cannot abide, which was motivating this demonic killer.

I wonder how many college campuses teach evolution, global warming, homosexuality, and abortion rights, compared to faith in God and His Word?

2 Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Notice that the NYT says 33 dead because they are including the gunman.

Yep. Same as cars, hammers, and boxes of rocks (if the shoe fits...)

So, therefore...ahem... we should ban the legal sale of all those items, right??????

The vast majority of guns in this country used in a crime are stolen handguns. In England, with far more strick gun laws they are smuggled in from Eastern Europe. Austrialia, now with far tighter gun laws is having something like 10,000 guns per year smuggled in.

The one thing that’s sure is the bad guys will be armed...

Many years ago, I spent many hours in Norris Hall taking engineering classes. If the criminal involved hadn't used a gun, he could have killed as many or more people by chaining the doors as he did and then setting fire to the labs in the basement. Your comments about guns show ignorance and a willingness to use tragedy to advance a wrongful agenda.

The terrorists are watching.. 10 terrorists with several/many magazines apiece can do a lot of damage in a Mall.. and probably get away with it to drive to another mall across town and do it again.. and again.. and again.. the same day..

I sure hope S.W.A.T. teams are training for this..

Maybe it really was over a girl.

Taken from a blog:

"In China’s new generation, there are 120 boys for every 100 women, due to the one-child-policy and the abortion of girls by those who insist on a son.

Lots of evidence suggests that a giant surplus of men who will never find women will sharply increase the crime rate and cause other problems."
