NEW YORK - Keith Olbermann will add a fifth voice to the studio on NBC's Sunday-night football highlights show in the fall, the network said on Monday.
Bob Costas anchors the show, with Cris Collingsworth and now Olbermann as co-hosts. With Jerome Bettis and Tiki Barber as analysts, the former NFL players will outnumber Costas and Olbermann by 3-to-2.
Olbermann, who first became known as a host on ESPN's "Sportscenter," has shuffled between news and sports during his career. His "Countdown" show on MSNBC has been hot lately, with Olbermann drawing attention for commentaries taking on the Bush administration.

Bad enough that the Pats are on Sunday night THREE times but they have to make it worse than Olberman. Thank God for Gil Santos on WBCN.

Oberman is being set up to loose his MSNBC gig to a minority.
You think Rush was kidding about not having any minorities represented on the MSM evening news outlets? He wasn’t. Oberman has had trash ratings and the only press he gets is when WE on the right give it to him. I would not be surprised in the least to see them bring back Bryant Gumble as some sort of sop to the Jackson/Sharpton groups. Remember, MSNBC has to “make things right” because Imus was on THEIR network.

Perhaps I’ve come to a realization of something.
If we don’t speak out we’ll never be heard.
We would never get as much media coverage but we should be a bit more motivated to cause a fuss.
I’ll put on my Rev. Al wig and demand he be fired for offending me on practically every occasion I’ve accidentally stumbled across his one sided narrow minded show.

“But why aren’t you tolerant enough to understand...”
I fell asleep during Political Correctness class, but passed the exam by choosing the obvious answers.
I can imagine Little Keith’s commentary, “Grossman’s back to pass, he’s... Oh, he comes from a wealthy Jewish family and had a privileged life that most of his team mates could only dream about. It looks like he’s going to be sacked. There’s justice in an oppressed African American defensive end, with firm tight buttocks, delivering a blow against the eternal oppressors of his people. If only he were free to sack the evil Bush Administration with his deliciously strong hands and elegant chiseled face.”
John Madden: “Hey Keith, what’s going on. Is that a pencil in your pants or are you just glad to see me?”

Well, I came across one of those Sunday night shows last night. The subject was Imus but more so hidden white racism/guilt (at least what I caught of it). The hostess asked questions pertaining to hidden thoughts on race. I am not sure what else was shown. It was appalling and shows the power of the media. At one point, I saw one of the women nod her head decisively when another was told of hidden racism.
To: MassRepublicanFlyersFan
I must be a racist because I din’t find anything about what Imus said to be racist.
Just because he used Ebonics?
Ebonics must have been racist.
I thought he could’ve said “Those chicks at BYU are some ugly sluts”
It would have meant the same thing to me.
it was very insulting and stupid but I don’t believe it to be racist.
I saw some white goober on Olberman’s network (I don’t know his name)doing his best to show he was “on their side”.
he had an all black panel and had pictures of Bill O’Reily, Rush Limbaugh and a couple of other conservative talk radio guys who's names escape me and was implying that they all make racist remarks on a regular basis.
A lady on the panel had to throw in Ann Coulter for good measure.
they simply lied and mischaracterized all of them and no one was there to defend them.
When I see stuff like this and Olberman’s show is purely based on opinionated dishonesty I feel like there is a massive wave of deception engulfing the entire world and there’s nothing I can do about it.
Now were either gonna have to listen to this jerk talk during half time or turn the channel.
I don’t know what’s next.
and they seem to be winning the battle.

About three weeks ago, a friend told me (again, prior to Imus) that Chris Rock was on Letterman and Rock said “White babies are ugly” among other things. To me, if someone wants to say this so be it. But why hasn’t this made the news? Is it due to a general statement as opposed to Imus’ rant about specific people? It is a slippery slope.

This is going to be worse than ESPN’s Jackie Robinson Day guiltfest between the Dodgers and the Padres.

I watched a Cubs-Reds’ game over the weekend, the Chicago feed, and a poll was taken as to if the events have watered down the occasion. The result was 49-49% (with a third option for “not sure” or whatever).

Chris Rock is black.
He is also a comedian so he can get away with just about anything he wants to say.
If Imus had a reason to say “The chicks at BYU are some ugly sluts” it at most would have been a one day hick up that would soon fade.
I think just about anyone can say just about anything about anyone else unless they are black or Muslim.
Going back to what you stated earlier about the power of the media, the majority of us Joe Schmoes in the country could care less yet most would to a small degree be sympathetic to the insulted one but it never balloons out of control unless the media wants it to.
I can’t believe the stuff Joe Biden gets away with. Thanks for reading my whining.
