It is almost as if they are afraid to condemn the behavior. Because that would be judgemental.

And we can’t do that then we would have to be CONSISTENT!!!

Fools.

Utah (and Israel and others) have it right.

Law-abiding citizens with CCW on campus, and other places out in public, are just the people who can STOP this kind of sh*t in its tracks, saving MANY lives and killing the perp.

When will our wimp legislators ever learn?

Idiots. Does the Virginia General Assembly think keeping universities gun-free will prevent future massacres like today's? Yeah, that's the ticket - punish the criminal by disarming every law-abiding university student and employee.

MSM reporters to police: "The inevitable question parents will be asking is 'How could this have been prevented...?"

The very atmosphere of firearms anywhere and everywhere restrains evil interference - they deserve a place of honor with all that's good.
-- George Washington

The best we can hope for concerning the people at large is that they be properly armed.
--Alexander Hamilton, The Federalist Papers at 184-188

To preserve liberty it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms and be taught alike, especially when young, how to use them.
-- Richard Henry Lee

[A]rms discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property. ... Horrid mischief would ensue were [the law-abiding] deprived the use of them.
-- Thomas Paine

It is your responsibility to protect yourself and your family from criminals. If you rely on the government for protection, you are going to be at least disappointed and at worst injured or killed.
-- from A Message from the Sheriff on the back of a victims' rights pamphlet
by five-term San Miguel County Sheriff Bill Masters (L) of Telluride, Colorado

Laws that forbid the carrying of arms…disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes…Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.
-- Thomas Jefferson, "Commonplace Book," 1774-1776,
quoting from On Crimes and Punishment, by criminologist Cesare Beccaria, 1764.

“Gun control” morons don’t seem to understand that criminals ignore laws, whether they are “gun control” laws or other laws. The Second Amendment is still in place, so everyone who is eligible should buy a gun and learn how to use it.

Best post I’ve seen in a long, long time.
Thanks.
And prayers to the families of VA Tech victims.

He can take his time and take careful aim.

First of all, I seriously doubt that the shooter in this case was aiming carefully. It sounds as if he was able to frighten his victims into submitting meekly (like the sheep we create in the public schools) so he could pop them at close range. Perhaps even contact range. I'll bet every shot he took at any other distance missed an intended target. However, in a target rich environment, it's certainly possible that even a miss would hit somebody else.

When I was a student at the University of Alabama in the late 1970's, a lot of us Army ROTC cadets had our CCW permits and carried on campus. Never a problem!

Gee, where in the heavily armed south in THIS day and age are you guaranteed to find thousands of unarmed sheep to slaughter? Answer: On campus.

Do you know that armed students from the University of Alabama mounted a defense of the campus against a yankee incursion during the War Between the States (aka "The Recent Unpleasantness" in Alabama)? They failed, but they fought with valor. My how times have changed.

Virginia Tech spokesman Larry Hincker was happy to hear the bill was defeated. "I'm sure the university community is appreciative of the General Assembly's actions because this will help parents, students, faculty and visitors feel safe on our campus."

Liberal Larry will probably be back to lead the charge to enact further restrictions upon the law-abiding targets students of VA Tech.

Yup. If you want to kill a bunch of people, a school is the place to go. Why this is is no mystery.

Since the gun-grabbers are making political hay out of this we might as well. This quote and story needs to be sent to the every victim's family.

The one piece of legislation that might have saved some of these students. How ironic.

To hell with this, I’m a full time student and after today, my .45 is going in my back pack. It is better to be tried by 12 than carried by 8.

You couldn’t have stated it better!!!!
