Asian, but I’d bet Muslim. Asian appearance could be a way of saying Arabic in a manner to avoid a fatua.

Could be a muslim (which would be no surprise) but I'd find it hard to believe that the eyewitness student thought to measure his words to 'avoid a fatwa'. Besides, it's the Brits who call them all Asian.

It appears that the opening of Jose Padilla's terrorism trial is no longer the lead story today.

Yep. Walking into a gun free zone is the equivalent of painting bullseyes all over yourself. All of the easy marks in gun free zones attract criminals from miles around.

If he killed himself, then it shows that no one in law enforcement actually stopped the guy...If he was not out of ammunition, he may have killed more.

I demand the right to protect myself in situations such as these. Where were those who disarmed those poor souls when the time came for defending them?

VA is a “right to carry” State. State colleges, which Va TECH is, the campus cops are authorized to carry loaded weapons and have the same authority as State Police when on campus.

Most reports say the shooter is dead and that dude aint. My guess is he is a fleeing student who fit the “Asian” description and thus got tackled by the cops.
