Being the farthest thing from an internet maven, I think that FreeRepublic is the #1 site on the planet for breaking news...as it's unfolding.

The Challenger disaster is a perfect example of that.

It's quite possible that the sheer number of people running to FreeRepublic to get the latest updates have overloaded the server(s).

It's taking more than 30 seconds to bring up a new screen...and I'm on Cable for a connection.

Female here, and I understand your sentiment. I don’t know that I would have agreed until 9/11 occurred, and now when I board a plane the first thing I do is look around for all the male types that I think would fight back if it was needed. An instance where this doesn’t apply though, is when your child is threatened, then you can (and will) do anything.

“Just learing about the shooting at Va Tech ... prayers up for the victims. Is this country degenerating into insanity?”

Some parts of it have been there for years.

Go take a look at your local newspaper’s blog site or, if you want the Full Monty, wade around in DU.

BTW, WMAL is in Washington DC. (:

Oops, my mistake! I used to listen on WFLA in Orlando. Thanks, Chicago.

This shooting makes me sick to my stomach, for alot of reasons....

Not only the waste of human life, the pain of loss, the grief of the families left behind, but the stupidity of the libs...

They will be out pounding their drums louder than ever now to get rid of the 2nd admendment...when its NOT the admendment at fault...the 2nd admendment doesn’t kill, the gun doesn’t kill, its the person or persons holding the weapon....

Our world folks is getting closer and closer to total insanity as I have never seen it before....

We have got to stand up, and get our country back from the libs who are only interested in money and power, they don’t care about you and I and our kids, they don’t care about the education of our children, they don’t understand anything about running a government, only power and money for themselves...they lie, they cheat, they steal, they re-write history every chance they get, and what do we do, we sit back and let them....

As I said before, what a sad day in our History.....

Of the general populous, you would find many a man in the Virginia area to take up the fight, but on campus, they are mighty scarce.

I'll bet you're right. FR was fine until about 1000 (MDT), when the news was breaking nationally. We, of course, had our own AppyPappy FReeping from the Virginia Tech campus two hours before. FR is indeed the place to get the news!

No, he said “lackey” watchdog group.

He’s referring to David Brock’s smear group.

Not surprised. They are sick individuals. They think 9/11 was an inside job. Everything to them is a Bush/Rove plot. People died today, and they use it to score cheap political points. They are disgusting.

Good rant.

Thanks. Please, at any time, if my fellow FReepers get sick of my incessant rants, please tell me.

A caller on Prager right now says the shooter was featured on America’s Most Wanted. Being held over through the break.

I can understand why you are tired of the “Imus stuff”..but, I wouldn’t ignore it..because this is just an opening salvo...and Jackson, Sharpton, Hillary and Media Matters (aka George Soros)...have not hidden their intent..

Their intent is to squash any “free speech” that harms them..or doesn’t work towards their best interest.

They have been working on Rove and Cheney and Bush..now they know that Congress is taking them out..so they are turning to “conservative” media...

That does NOT exclude the internet..and THIS is one of the more well known “conservative” web sites.

I think we should pay a LOT of attention to what happened to Imus..and why.

They haven't even sent him the bill yet. In fact, they haven't even chosen the coonference members to work out the differences in the two bills.

Okay. Since it was voted on in the House and it went through the Senate on March 29, I figured its next stop was the White House.
