He would have to wait hours for the classes to start...minimize hallway traffic...chain doors.
If you're going to go to the trouble to create a diversion a half mile away at Ambler Johnston Hall so that security would be minimum at Norris Hall, you'd want to make sure the classrooms were full and nobody walking the halls.
