I work at Tech and the story I’ve heard is that the boyfriend himself spent the night with the girlfriend and that they got in an argument in the morning. When others in the dorm came to her “rescue” he pulled a gun and killed the girlfriend. The RA then came to help and was shot in the foot. No idea whether this is true, but it’s what I heard.

My son-in-law is a Virginian and I spoke to him just now. He is a CCW guy and tells me that the gun rights folks in VA have had trouble with the Hokies because although it is legal to carry on campus, the university said that if any student is caught (legally) carrying, that student will be expelled.

Things might have been a whole lot better if someone was carrying today...

Unlikely he would have such a weapons cache on him

Thanks for your reports earlier today also. So sorry for all who work or study at Va Tech and for all the families involved esp those who have lost their children today!

Geraldo just said Asian guy was 23 year old exchange student from China....but he doesn't know if that's accurate.

Did people on campus know the shooter - do you know? (besides the girlfriend) - has anybody said so?
