Gunman on Campus; Stay inside your building, away from windows; Shooting incident at West Ambler Johnston Hall

His behavior, to me, certainly qualifies as “unhinged.” I guess you’re right in the sense that he probably didn’t set out to terrorize people, but I think he did nonetheless.
This has the effect of terror; first of all on university students all over the country, and then on their parents. By extrapolation, it’s likely to make us all much more uneasy about every environment we move through during the day, especially the workplace.
Mass murderers are increasingly targeting children, as at the Amish schoolhouse last October. Much of the killer’s m.o. today reminds me of that one, and yes I consider college students to be children. It is especially terrifying to see the young targeted.
Jihad is just another face of an evil force that manifests in other ways as well.
Ryan Clark: Student from Columbia County is among the dead at a Virginia college.
Ryan "Stack" Clark was shot in the neck in West Ambler Johnston Hall where the gunman started his rampage, said Vernon Collins, the coroner in Columbia County, Ga.
According to a page on Techs Marching Virginians web site posted in fall 2006, Clark was a fifth-year member of the marching band program and a resident advisor at West Ambler Johnston.
He had expected to graduate in December 2006 and planned to pursue a Ph.D. in psychology with a focus in cognitive neuroscience.
Sounds very much that way, to me.
But did they have to bark up the wrong tree so long? Were things THAT . . . unclear? Weren’t ANY of their spider senses tingling? Weren’t any of the clues seeming out of place? Still seems like too many puzzle pieces aren’t fitting near snuggly enough.
I don’t know. There are more conflicting reports coming out of the authorities and the media than there were on the day Jack Kennedy was shot in Dallas.
I think there is a lot more to this than one student going berserk over a broken reationship.
I hope every college in the nation is looking at ways to tighten up their security.
I agree with you. Others should have been armed to the teeth. And this should be made known to any and all vermin.
You know of shapeshifters?
I tend to agree.
I read where he asked some where his girl friend was. That may have been the 1st classroom he entered. It could be he acted differently in different classrooms. I don’t know.
I’m dubious the ABC info is breaking because CNN has had the same info in a much more clearly worded form for a while now....
This is the same info as presented by CNN:
“At the time of the later shootings at Norris Hall, police were investigating a “person of interest” in the dormitory shootings, Flinchum said. But the man — a non-student who knew one of the victims — had not been arrested, and it is unclear if he has any link to the other gunman, he said.”
The way CNN words it it makes it sound more like an early mistake (which explains the lack of a response on campus, etc.) rather than a genuine second suspect.
May he rest in peace, and may his family find consolation.
Was this the R.A.?
I hope he could go fast when it occured and there was not much pain.
And hope he was in a State of Grace with God.
The “person of interest” was the supposedly jilted lover. So the notion that it was a “jilted lover” who did all the shooting doesn’t play out.
How horrible.
What a huge loss.
God, be with his family and make his example count for much blessings amidst all the suffering somehow, some way for years to come. May his legacy be multiplied in waves over and over and over. May his character continue to be a shining light to all who knew him or hear about him, in Jeus’ Name.
The person of interest was the supposedly jilted lover.
Where did you get that?
Oh man :^(
That could be, too. After he started shooting, he may have just shut up.
I don’t think ABC, or the cops have a clue........
Sorry I didn’t get his last name but they keep replaying his interview on CNN - you can probably keep watching and get it from there. Me I am shortly turning in - got to post 2850 in this thread that I’ve been following all day - but just can’t stay awake . Will answer some pings and turn in!
If I am not mistaken, the police admitted they may have been chasing the wrong suspect at one point. But they never elaborate, and there were no follow-up questions.
