Most people really don’t care about Fred Thompson’s OR Rudy’s sex life. That’s the point.

no one is caterwauling, it is mostly laughter at the hilarious attempts to draw a moral equivalence between adulterous behavior and that of a single man. and i don’t think ANYONE is mentioning sex outside the bonds of marriage, but you. Rudy’s sex was within the bonds of marriage TO SOMEONE ELSE!

One reason: she [Lorrie Morgan] didn't like dressing the part of a conservative Republican. ("Get that basic black dress out of the closet," Morgan wrote in her 1997 autobiography, "Forever Yours, Faithfullly." "And no cleavage, baby!")

Hmmm... No longer a requirement...?

um, it’s not rudy’s sex life that is the problem. it is the trust issue that arises when someone is guilty of serial adultery.

Bwahahaha!!!

Women like Fred. So what?

This doesn’t even compare to Giuliani’s slime.

If that’s the point, you twit, why are you reposting old articles about it? This is a duplicate post and nobody gave a damn about it the first time. You could post it all day every day and it still wouldn’t matter a damn.

Your silly attempt to draw moral equivalence between a man who violated his marriage vows and a man who dated while single shows a lot more about you than it does about Fred.

All of you Rudy supporters stink of defeatism and the lack of any principle.

and this pic was taken at what event? was it by chance a HOLLYWOOD affair? lorrie morgan was speaking prospectively of what her life would be like married to a politician. i think that the politically savvy Mrs. Thompson has a closet full of suits and pumps etc. A politico won’t mind dressing the part of a politician’s wife nearly as much as a showbiz type would.

I don’t think this is slime. Merely reporting the facts. Do you think Fred Thompson will escape scrutiny by the press?

Perhaps a little analysis is in order. Consider the first "paragraph" of the article (if two sentences can constitute a paragraph).

If voters on the right think Rudy Giuliani's love life is too racy, what will they think about Fred Thompson? The former Tennessee senator, who is considering his own run for the GOP nomination, was a swinging single during most of his eight-year tenure in the Senate, making him a favorite of gossip columnists, who often referred to him as the "Tennessee Stud."

The first sentence suggests an equivalence -- or at least a comparison -- between Rudy's philandering and serial adultery with Thompson's love life, while the second sentence refers to Thompson as a "singing single" and references gossip about Thompson. While the rest of the article addresses a few facts about some of the successful and attractive men Thompson dated, the article is much more gossip and innuendo than it is "reporting the facts".

In closing, I think most men will look at a guy who dated (and apparently dumped) Lorrie Morgan much more favorably than a guy that fought to move his bimbo mistress into the mayoral mansion while he was going through a nasty divorce.

Rudy was divorced from his first wife when he met and married Donna Hanover. His marriage to Hanover fell apart, as much because of her ambitions as anything else. He found someone else and they are happily married now. Big deal.

"They just won't leave him alone," Kehn told the paper. "I can't get up to get a cocktail at a party without coming back and finding some girl sitting in my chair."

Lol. He has the sneaky women's vote!

I personally don’t care what Rudy did in his personal life. However, I do find it amusing that the man that some think is our fearless leader against terrorism let himself get put out of Gracie Mansion by his wife. Yeah, terrorists, fear Rudy!

well you say big deal, but not everyone looks so blithely upon serial adultery. you can go ahead and bank that no one will care about it and we will just see how that plays out. there is absolutely no doubt about the shoddy way that rudy’s adultery played out. i don’t care what hanover is or did, rudy is the one that brought his mistress to live in Gracie mansion while still married to his former wife.

I like some things about Rudy. One of things I don’t like is the way in which his second wife found out her marriage was ending.

I remember when he did it, watching the press conf and thinking to myself, wow, maybe he isn’t who I thought he was. It was a singularly telling moment- for me.

I also think it speaks to Fred Thompson's character that not one of the women he dated (when he was single) has anything less than compliments for him, even today.

Apparently, he's a good breaker-upper.

Nothing like posting a 2 week old piece of slime. Trying to blunt a bit of the Rudy train wreck eh?

Oh please, two weeks? We've been subjected to endless postings of two decade articles about Rudy and told they were relevant.

And I don't see how you call this "slime." How does it really hurt Thompson? He was, as a single man, quite the eligible bachelor.

“but not everyone looks so blithely upon serial adultery.”

If nothing else it’s an indicative of character or in Rooty’s case lack thereof.
