Since the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, our nation has fought a global war against violent extremists who use terrorism as their weapon of choice, and who seek to destroy our free way of life. Our enemies seek weapons of mass destruction and, if they are successful, will likely attempt to use them in their conflict with free people everywhere. Currently, the struggle is centered in Iraq and Afghanistan, but we will need to be prepared and arranged to successfully defend our nation and its interests around the globe for years to come. DOD
Our enemies include all the Muslims who dream of knocking Western Civilization off its perch atop humanityâs dung heap. Islam is fractured into any number of sects, tribes and ethnic groups, but the dream of destroying us cuts across all the fault lines. Islamic terrorists are merely the tip of a very large spear.
J. Peter Mulhern, the American Thinker, September 18
The determination behind that fight is real, the hatred is real, and the excuses for doing this are very real in the minds of those who have decided to walk that path. We can respond in two ways: Try to ignore or negotiate with people who do not want to negotiate in good faith, because what they want is our destruction, or to stand up against the darkness of those who see all of us, our way of life, our culture and our aspirations as something worth eliminating.
Either: "And God willing, with the force of God behind it, we shall soon experience a world without the United States and Zionism," Mahmoud Ahmadinejad
Or: "With vigilance, determination, courage, we will defeat the enemies of freedom, and we will leave behind a more peaceful world for our children and our grandchildren." GW Bush.

Lil Kim should be careful when playing with bottle rockets. Someone might shoot one back at him.
” Coffee perking - “
I’m well into my third cuppa coffee (double-strength, as is my wont on early-early mornings) and I just now feel competent to get into the shower without drowning myself....

One should not bath while unconscious.

KUFA, Iraq, May 25 (Reuters) - Anti-American cleric Moqtada al-Sadr, who has not been seen since the start of a major U.S.-backed crackdown in Iraq in February, appeared at Friday prayers in the holy Shi’ite city of Kufa.
The U.S. military has said he went into hiding in Iran in January to escape the crackdown, but aides to the young cleric, who led two uprisings against U.S. forces in 2004, say he never left Kufa. A Reuters witness saw him enter Kufa mosque, surrounded by bodyguards and close aides.

TOKYO (AP) Japan’s Kyodo News agency says North Korea fired short-range missiles toward Sea of Japan on Friday, citing Japanese and U.S. sources.
Heads up. The little dictator isn’t getting enough attention.
Here’s another one who was not getting enough attention.
Mookie’s Back in Town
Al Sadr makes first public appearance since October.

Firebrand anti-American, anti-Israeli cleric made his first public appearance in 7 months.
AFP reported:
Radical Shiite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr appeared at Friday prayers at his local mosque in Kufa, central Iraq, to demand a US troop withdrawal five months after commanders claimed he had fled to Iran.
The young preacher, the leader of one of Iraq’s most powerful armed movements, arrived at the mosque surrounded by an entourage of Shiite clerics for weekly prayers for the first time since October last year.
“No, no to the unjust! No, no to America! No, no to colonialism! No, no to Israel! No, no to Satan,” he declared, as he began his address before hundreds of supporters, who showered him with handfuls of sweets.
“I want to renew our demand for the departure of the occupation,” he said.
US officials had said the firebrand cleric slipped out of Iraq in January ahead of a joint US-Iraqi security sweep that has since targeted his militia, the Mahdi Army, which is accused of taking part in sectarian attacks.
But, things may not be so rosy for Al-Sadr...
US officials reported that he had returned to Iraq after a four-month sojourn in Iran earlier this week.
Chron.com reported:
The prevailing view among U.S. officials familiar with the intelligence reports is that al-Sadr’s aim at a minimum is to raise his political profile in Iraq and possibly strengthen his position in anticipation of provincial elections next year.
There also have been reports that his militia has been splintering, and he may be trying to reinforce influence over his supporters.

“Ive been uncomfortable (and more than a tad bit) with happenings everywhere for a long time, now...”
That was a cautious choice of words. I know you have and if I didn’t honestly feel overwhelmingly strong about my feelings, then I wouldn’t have made the post at all.
