Take heart, Imus. You're merely joining a long and legendary laundry list of individuals who were summarily sacrificed in the name of society's sanctimonious soul: Socrates, Jesus, Galileo, Joan of Arc, Mozart and Mark Twain...

Hmmmm...so the I-Man is now compared to Jesus Christ? Interesting claim from one of Imus' cronies...

It is, and on target too. Im a little bit older than Imus, and we both grew up in an age when it was said that people learned from their mistakes, and apologized when you had offended someone. As Pat Buchannan, another old white guy in his seventh decade said a few days ago, Don Imus asked for forgivness and didn’t get it.

There's no excusing Imus' recent ridiculous remark, but there's something not kosher in America when one guy gets a Grammy and one gets fired for the same line.

There was a great line on the opening SNL skit last night when the Sharpton character said, "Nothing strikes more fear in the heart of a hip-hop artist than the firing of 68 year-old white man."

So, if Imus was such an iconic truthteller, why did he cave and apologize?

Why did he go out of his way and apologize to Sharpton on SHARPTON'S radio show?

A truthteller...especially a cranky old codger like Imus should have grabbed the opportunity to flip the figurative bird to the race hucksters and dared for them to bring the debate out in the open.

Only then would the country be able to discuss the hypocrisy that exists in what is deemed an insult versus artistic license.

Well, Imus’s words did scar that one basketball player for life (sarc).

Imus “was a spiritual chop-buster never afraid to go after the big guys with nothing but the slingshot of ragged integrity.”?

Nonsense.

Imus was the quintessential cheap shot artist. Period.

I hope and pray that when I slip and fall Kinky Freidman doesn’t show up to support me.

Thanks for the post, I had the opportunity to see Imus’s generosity having worked at Hackensack General Hospital where Imus’s name is not only revered but attached to the Children’s Cancer Center. Good luck Imus & thanks.

Thanks for posting, he is and remains a true friend to Imus....

the other side story or lesson of all of this is the shock of finding out who your true friends are....I wouldn't have believed Harold Ford would've turned his back on IMUS - he supported him so devotedly and Ford ran for cover. If anything it proves that you can't buy courage or leadership....and Ford is a great example of that in the end.

Far from being a bully, he was a spiritual chop-buster never afraid to go after the big guys with nothing but the slingshot of ragged integrity.

Imus had no qualms about going after the Goliaths that were considered Politically Incorrect but he exposed his belly like a cowering bitch puppy to Al Sharpton when he offended the forces of Political Correctness.

The NY Post is on my list of favorite US newspapers.

Don Imus doesn’t like Hillary Clinton and has made that very clear in the past with various remarks. IMHO, I think it is telling that paid shills for the Democratic Party (Jackson, Sharpton) were instrumental in Imus’s demise. This in no way defends the content of Imus’s comments, but the punishment doesn’t fit the crime.

Also, Deirdre Imus’s book tour has been canceled for “Green This! Volume 1: Greening Your Cleaning”. Thanks Procter and Gamble (one of the first advertisers to cancel ads on the Imus show.)

I can't disagree Kinky. Nice to see somebody actually stand by a friend during this nationally televised lynching. Thank you Kinkster!

Kinky gets a little grandiose describing the wonders of Imus but his points are right on concerning the hypocrisy of free speech censored by the shallow, no guts MSM...
Free spirit cowboys like Kinky are skillful with long ropes whereas idiot liberals get tangled up in self applied knots.

Imus...this is what liberal stalinists do to those scoundrels who upset their apple cart... Imus you may get another shot at radio in a different format...perhaps a different message....the chance to revile the hypocrisy of the media censoring liberal elitists....exposing the freedom-squashing gutless scum for who they are...

Can't resist. In this matter Mr. Imus can truly state, I'm us.

Fight back and win, Mr. Imus, before "they" come for us -- and things get really ugly.
