NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - Kennedy cousin Michael Skakel is going back to court this week in a bid for a new murder trial, adding yet another twist to a case that has spawned decades of intrigue. Skakel, a nephew of Ethel Kennedy, is serving 20 years to life in prison after he was convicted in 2002 of bludgeoning Martha Moxley to death with a golf club in their wealthy Greenwich neighborhood when they were 15. Skakel, 47, is seeking a new trial based on a claim by one-time schoolmate Gitano ``Tony'' Bryant implicating two of his friends in Moxley's 1975 killing. Bryant, whose claim surfaced in 2003, said he was with two friends from New York in Greenwich the night Moxley was killed. According to court papers, Bryant said one friend had met Moxley and ``wanted to go caveman on her,'' and that the two later told him ``We did what we had to do'' and ``We got her caveman style.'' Prosecutor Jonathan Benedict has called Bryant's account ``a complete fabrication.'' Skakel's attorneys say a a jury should hear the allegation. ``The petition for new trial raises substantial issues relating to new evidence never before considered by a jury or a court,'' said Skakel's attorney, Hope Seeley. ``Certainly, if this new evidence had been presented to a jury, Michael Skakel would not have been convicted. Michael Skakel is innocent and we will fight his wrongful conviction and incarceration.'' The victim's mother, Dorthy Moxley, said she remains convinced that Skakel killed her daughter. ``I really wish we didn't have to go through with this again,'' she said.

Too bad Martha Moxley didn’t have a loving and very violent brother....

Justice delayed, is justice denied.

I think that Skakel is the only Kennedy who has ever been punished for his crimes. All the rest have gotten off with “get out of jail free” cards.

I think the reason is that he is so vile that not even the Kennedys can stomach him. And that must be pretty vile indeed, when you look at some of the rest of them. So they stood back and let him be convicted.

"So they stood back and let him be convicted."

Instead of what exactly?

Kennedy cousin Michael Skakel is going back to court this week...

Give this SOB some Preparation H and tell him to get over it! He doesn't have the "Camelot Mystique" cloak of invincibility...

Kennedy money has paid someone to fabricate this story.

They're still trying.

Even if they despise Michael Skakel, it adds tarnish to the Kennedy Legacy, and another nail in the coffin to any further claim to Legacy Slots in Governing the Rest of Us Unwashed Peons.

A lot of those Northeast Establishment Families like the Skakels and Kennedys have come full circle in only four generations.

Now some are in the Big House, only it's not in Greenwich or Hyannisport.

Well . . . assorted rapes, murders, and leaving the scenes of accidents. I can’t remember when they ever left a Kennedy dangling like this before.

Everyone was amazed when he was convicted, because they expected the Kennedy magic to intervene.

If this fat, dispicable turd wasn’t plugged into money, he would have started doing time many years ago. There seems to be another standard for justice if you are rich.
