AP NewsBreak: Police find driver in Corzine crash, won't charge By BETH DEFALCOP> Associated Press Writer TRENTON, N.J. (AP) _ A state official says police have found the driver they believe caused a car accident that left Gov. Jon S. Corzine critically injured, and would not be charging the man. An official with knowledge of the investigation said the driver, a man who worked at a casino in Atlantic City, didn't realize he had caused the accident and thought he actually avoided an accident.

Please elaborate; I don't understand the reference?!

Check the link; the red truck was being passed by the white one and the SUV. I believe norwaypinesavage has it exactly right. The red truck said he pulled back onto the road after avoiding the accident.
Doug Forrester ran against him for governor.
“Police find driver in Corzine crash, won’t charge... “
THAT ANSWERS MY QUESTION....
Now there you go...........
Bingo, you got it.
The mental impairment?
Probably had a Corzine bumper sticker next to his Clinton - Gore bumper sticker.
Remember how Chevy Chase lost control of his station wagon in "National Lampoon's Vacation"?
The only question left to ask is if Zine hit his head on the steering wheel.
SQUASH BUCKLER GOV - CRASHER CORZINE BROKE LAW BY NOT WEARING SEAT BELT
Amen.
Correct me if I am wrong, but the state trooper driving the SUV alleges he drove into the guardrail because he tried (and apparently failed) to avoid a white truck that changed lanes “unexpectedly” to avoid the red truck. The red truck was not involved in the accident. Yes, I know, the driver of the red truck may have been the proximate cause of the accident, but under New Jersey law, I believe the trooper would have to be charged with reckless driving because he did not have his vehicle under control before he whacked the white truck in the hind quarters and then smashed into the guard rail at high speed.
They drive up, spew their lies, innuendo and half-truths, and beat a hasty retreat.
Exactly. Well said. (Well coined phrase by Rush, too.)
I hope the driver of the red pickup won't be identified. But I'll bet the ranch that the drive-by media will ferret him out.
After all, the red pickup driver hit one of their precious Democrat pols, and fled the scene !
And like the lacrosse players, he'll probably have his life ruined (or at least altered for the worse by all "hit and run" publicity), even if he isn't being charged.
As I understand it, this is not a case of "assured clear distance," it's a case of someone swerving in front of Corzine's SUV. The trooper won't be charged because in this circumstance it is virtually impossible to avoid a collision. If the red pickup driver started the chain of events, he should be charged with causing the accident. He would be in my state.
Article states Corzine was in Fast lane with emergency lights flashing. White pickup in front of him in fast lane.
(Get out of my way, I have a race baiting photo op I need to attend to, I am the law.)
Red Pickup pulls to the shoulder.
Red pickup driver thinks coast is clear after last glance, moves back to right lane, at same moment the white pickup moves to right lane (to avoid very important person on his way to race baiting photo op).
Now two vehicles occupy right lane, with Governor bearing down with lights flashing. Three vehicle in two lanes, one on his way to an “emergency”.
Now this explains everything. Driver of white truck needs to blame someone, but cant blame governor, the actual person who caused the accident.
Police need to blame someone, and hope the red truck driver is never found.
Driver is found, and now we know the governor had lights flashing, causing emergency highway conditions with people abruptly changing lanes to avoid him.
Especially that last.
For weeks, it has been known that the green onions weren't responsible for the Take-A-Smell e-coli outbreak, but at least twice in the last week the alphabets have repeated it as fact in evening news stories on food contamination.
At least the grower isn't taking it. link (note the date!)
Yes, but that doesn't justify the media's characterizing the incident as "hit and run."
I've been suspicious of this whole thing from the git-go. It smells of deflecting the blame --away from Corzine (who, we now know after much waffling, was too special to wear a seat belts); and away from the state police driver, who was probably speeding way over the 65mph they're admitting to now.
Did Corzine ask his driver to speed? After all, he didn't want to be late to his photo-op with the Rutgers girls and Imus!
We who live in NJ are used to our Democrat pols speeding in their motorcades, and damn the little people whom they inconvenience.
A few years ago, Al Gore had a long stretch of the Garden State Parkway shut down so his motorcade could speed safely to a Jon BonJovi concert.
haha ain’t that the truth
I do believe you just nailed it, good job.
I based my post on the animation of the accident supplied at a link.
The whole thing seems weird, right down to a mentally challenged driver!
I suspect that the governor wasn’t wearing his seatbelt, and that his car was speeding and I think they fear these things would come out in a suit, so they aren’t pressing. jmo
Headline:
Billionaire Democrat, with emergency lights flashing, causing numerous abrupt lane changes on a highway, risking the lives of the peons he governs so that he could attend a race baiting photo op is almost killed while disregarding seat belt laws he enforces on said peons.
The truth is Priceless.
