If sperm cells can be developed from female bone-marrow tissue they will be matured in the laboratory and tested for their ability to penetrate the outer “shell” of a hamster’s egg - a standard fertility test for sperm.

I’m thinking the lefties wouldn’t want to do this unless it involved destroying a human embryo.

I don’t think it will work.. what an insane idea to even think up.

Children need a mother and a father!

Exactly what I was thinking! Why start with sperm cells from bone marrow if their end goal is ‘to make other tissues’ why not pursue neurons..

Science without ethics will harm and destroy as many people as politics without ethics.

I don't think there is an ethical barrier, so long as it's safe. We are in the process of applying for ethical approval.

*************

This from someone who clearly has no idea of the definition of "ethical".

Get past Islam? Just where do you think the focal point of the evolutionary change actually is?

Gulf states: colleges 65-75% female (even higher percentages in the sciences); Saudi Arabia, 60%; Iran, over 50% now (Libya, Palestine, Jordan, Tunisia also now female-majority in their colleges).

(Indeed, this growing female dominance in the Arab world is part of what’s actually driving the anger of many of the males there, even unbeknownest to themselves).

This is what hit especially deep when the image was paraded of an Iraqi male prisoner on a leash being held by a female guard.

Of course, there’s nothing too special about the Arab Peninsula or its environs. This changeover is taking place worldwide. Not just in education, but the professions (e.g. the management field in the US passed over to female majority in 2006; admissions to Law school, Med school became female majority; millionaires in Britain under 40 became majority female; house purchases in the US by young single adults were by 2/3 females, etc.)

None of this is recent, and it’s certainly not rooted in the petty debates of the conservi-liberals (most of whom are baby boomers that call themselves “conservatives” and “liberals” who are stuck in the time warp of the 1960’s and their obsolete debates). It is rooted much deeper than this.

Indeed, it had already been noticed WAY back in this visionary and hauntingly prophetic presage...

Adapted from John B. Kennedy, Colliers, 1926 January 30

“... [An] inventive genius found quick recognition ... he established plants ... where his innumerable experiments resulted in all manner of important and minor advances in electrical science. Lord Kelvin said of him (before he was forty) that he had contributed more than any other man to the study of electricity.”, writes Kennedy.

The genius that Kennedy is interviewing speaks:
“When wireless is perfectly applied the whole earth will be converted into a huge brain ... We shall be able to communicate with one another instantly, irrespective of distance. Not only this, but through television and telephony we shall see and hear one another as perfectly as though we were face to face, despite intervening distances of thousands of miles; and the instruments through which we shall be able to do this will be amazingly simple compared with our present telephone. A man will be able to carry one in his vest pocket.”

“We shall be able to witness and hear events—the inauguration of a President, the playing of a world series game, the havoc of an earthquake or the terror of a battle—just as though we were present.”

“Already motion pictures have been transmitted by wireless over a short distance. Later the distance will be illimitable, and by later I mean only a few years hence.”

Already, we see where this vision is heading: “a MAN’s vest pocket?”, one asks.

Thus, the genius in the interview speaks on:
“It is clear to any trained observer, and even to the sociologically untrained, that a new attitude ... has come over the world ... receiving an abrupt stimulus just before and after the World War.”

Then, the Dark Side comes out, and a feeling of deja vu starts to emerge. This engineering and scientific genius who had been the subject of the 1926 Collier’s interview with John B. Kennedy sounds strangely familiar.

Out comes the crystalline globe, whose name, “Palantir”, in the high Eldarin tongue means “television”. It is held in one hand, while in the other is a staff bearing a vast power of artificial lightning. The (DVD) movie line suddenly comes to mind

“So you have come here for information. I have some for you.”, he says as he brandishes the far-seeing crystalline device.

“A MAN’s vest pocket”, you begin to ask, or did he actually mean to say “a WOMAN’s purse”? It’s not men who have the greatest connectivity through the cell phone and cyberspace world. Connectivity completely tips the balance of power of the sexes...

The genius continues on, in the actual Collier’s article:
“This struggle of the human female toward sex equality will end in a new sex order, with the female as superior. The modern woman, who anticipates in merely superficial phenomena the advancement of her sex, is but a surface symptom of something deeper and more potent fermenting in the bosom of the race.”

The deja vu gets stronger still. One begins to see the image of a white-robed member of the order of the Istar standing over a parapet of a large dark tower, brandishing the crystalline far-seeing device...

“Something festers in the heart of Middle-earth. Something you have failed to see. But the Great Eye has seen it.”
— Saruman’s parley, adapted from the DVD version of “Return of the King”

Continuing the actual 1926 quote of the strangely familiar scientific genius...

“It is not in the shallow physical imitation of men that women will assert first their equality and later their superiority, but in the awakening of the intellect of women.

“A new sex order is coming”, writes Kennedy concerning his interview with the scientist/istari, “with the female as superior. You will communicate by some vest-pocket equipment...”

As this is being said, the deja vu gets stronger still. The scientific and engineering genius — Nikola Tesla — is now the white-robed istar, Saruman, holding the crystalline “television” palantir ball in one hand and the lightning-producing staff in the other. But now, he looks out from the parapet upon a vast army of arrayed in the field below:

“A new power is rising, its victory is at hand.”

The crowd cheers on

“The land will be stained with the blood of men.”

The cheers grow wilder

“March to victory! Leave none alive!”

The vast army is whipped up into a cheering frenzy, and he issues his call to battle.

“TO WAR!”

Then he speaks quietly to himself

“There will be no dawn for Men.”
— adapted from Saruman rally cry in The Two Towers

Tesla’s actual commentary went on:

“... the female mind has demonstrated a capacity for all the mental acquirements and achievements of men, and as generations ensue that capacity will be expanded; the average woman will be as well educated as the average man, and then better educated,...”

The Growing Prevalence of Women in Education, by Field
http://federation.g3z.com/FedSeries/FallOfMankind/Distribution.htm
(Color graphics showing the inexorable trend from the 1950’s on, and its inevitable outcome, field by field).

“... for the dormant faculties of her brain will be stimulated to an activity that will be all the more intense and powerful because of centuries of repose. Woman will ignore precedent and startle civilization with their progress.”

“The acquisition of new fields of endeavor by women, their gradual usurpation of leadership ... human civilization [will] draw closer and closer to the [sic] perfect civilization of the bee.”

“...the all-governing supremacy of the instinct for immortality which makes divinity out of motherhood.”

“The center of all bee life is the queen. She dominates the hive...”

(Suddenly, everything flash-forwrds 80 years after Tesla’s interview to images
of barely-clad Nicoles, Parises, Brittanies, Annas; and to scene-stealing
gossip magnets such as all the Oprahs, the Tyras and Angelineas...)

The power of the dark lord and his liege, in this surprise turn of events, is usurped by a queen...

“In place of a Dark Lord, you would have a queen! NOT DARK, BUT BEAUTIFUL AND AS THE DAWN! TREACHEROUS AS THE SEEEEAAAA! *STRONGER THAN THE FOUNDATIONS OF THE EARTH*! ALL SHALL LOVE ME, AND DESPAIR!”
— Adapted from Galadriel’s ringasmic surge in Fellowship of the Ring

Except, in this version of the scene, the version envisioned by Tesla/Saruman, she snatches away the token of ultimate power and consummates her climactic surge.

Thus the logical conclusion of the connectivity revolution envisioned by the dark istar Tesluman is none other than — a wireless world-spanning web and the transformation of the human race into an utterly female-dominated Hive Mind.

I guess there is no barrier if one has no ethics.

[transformation of the human race into an utterly female-dominated Hive Mind.]

As Brundle-Fly (The Fly) put it, “Insect Politics”.

So what we have is Natural Law created via several billion years of evolution being opposed by 150 years of science fiction fantasy based wishful thinking.

I’ll side with Natural Law.

Unfortunately Natural Law does not care about the pain and suffering that those who insist on opposing it inflict upon themselves.

These females who would reproduce via stem-cell sperm must do so because NATURE has rendered them sexually dysfunctional.

And the idea of human civilization as Hive is nothing new.  There are reasons why Utah is the Beehive state.  Deseret.

[This changeover is taking place worldwide.]

Observation of historical events that have accompanied this changeover lead me to believe that the Utopian vision is not unfolding as planned.

[“We shall be able to witness and hear events—the inauguration of a President, the playing of a world series game, the havoc of an earthquake or the terror of a battle—just as though we were present.”]

Sounds like a wonderful opportunity for the manipulation of mass-perception, as Nietzsche described in The Birth of Tragedy and as George Orwell described in 1984.

[It’s not men who have the greatest connectivity through the cell phone and cyberspace world. Connectivity completely tips the balance of power of the sexes...]

Oh this is just BS.  Women have always been the more social of the two sexes.  It's not that men don't have connectivity, it's just that they are by nature more individualistic and so naturally utilize these available communication devices more selectively.

The natural balance of male individualism, supported and bound together by female socialization, has served the human species well.   Take away either of those elements and you loose the essence of humanity.

Civilizations that attempt to deliberately modify this relationship do so at their peril - as can be historically observed.

FTA: "I don't think there is an ethical barrier"

You're right in saying this would impose a terrible burdened on children who are conceived as mere experiments.

But the ethical problem goes way, way beyond that in the sense that humankind has become its own experiment. And as C.S. Lewis said over 60 years ago, that means really that a small group of wo/men (the experimenters) rule all the rest (the experiments), none of them recognizably human.

Altogether fitting that the project is emerging in England, where they have actually realized Lewis' prophecies with their "Human Fertility and Embryology Authority" under their "National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence" ---"NICE" ---

Have you read Lewis' "That Hideous Strength"?

You just can't write social parody anymore.

oh my goodness...I did read that, but I must have been a teenager. Wasn’t it part of the space trilogy?

I guess when you’ve managed to forget the plot of a Lewis book, it’s high time to revisit it.
Thank you!

Cloning will replace all this tedious child-bearing. Also, ever since that shark at the aquarium gave birth by budding a lot of people have wondered about this.

[Cloning will replace all this tedious child-bearing.]

It won’t replace mate selection or the social structures that have evolved for successfully raising viable offspring.

It’s been on my todo list for a long time, thanks for bringing it up.

Is that where he wrote about this:

[a small group of wo/men (the experimenters) rule all the rest (the experiments), none of them recognizably human.]

?
